Introduction

Established in 2003, Academy of Technology is one of the most acclaimed self-financed engineering colleges in West Bengal. It has been established by Ananda Educational Development & Charitable Organisation (AEDCO), a trust known for its deep sense of social commitment and dedicated to the promotion of education by inculcating appropriate ethics and attitude. In a metamorphosis of over 18 years, Academy of Technology has been reinventing itself constantly to explore the infinite possibilities of engineering and technology – an academy that inspires everyone to think differently. All academic programmes are approved by AICTE, recognized by Department of Higher. Education, Government of West Bengal and affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (formerly West Bengal University of Technology) .

The campus is located on the side of G.T. road at Adisaptagram, Hooghly. The college is only 200 meters away from Adisaptagram railway station, next station to Bandel on Howrah–Barddhaman main line [Eastern Railway] and only 70 to 80 minutes journey from Howrah railway station. Kolkata Airport is only 47 km away.

Kanchrapara railway station (North 24 Parganas) is 9.4 KM and Kalyani railway station (Nadia) is 10.4 KM from Academy of Technology.

Admission Procedure

The institution offers six B.Tech courses along with five post graduation courses. AOT provides excellent opportunities for the students for various co-curricular and extra-curricular exercises for the students. Academy of Technology facilities have been good over the years. It has a good library, transportation, and canteen services to the students at all times. Academy of Technology, Hooghly admission can be done on the official website. AOT placements have a good training cell to provide job opportunities for their students before the completion of the course, so students no need to worry about their placement once they have graduated. The placement cell trains all the students and makes them completely a competitive candidate. They have collaborated with many global companies with the objective of making their students placed over there. 

Admission 2023

It was established in the year of 2003. It is affiliated to the Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). Academy of Technology, Hooghly is a Engineering and Management institute located in Kolkata, West Bengal. The institute offers various B.Tech, and MCA programs at UG and PG levels. Admission to B.Tech course is done on the basis of merit in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or JEE Main. Admission to the B.Tech Lateral course is done through Joint Entrance Lateral Entry Test (JELET). For admission to the MCA course, candidates need to score well in Joint Entrance for admission in Master of Computer Applications (JECA). UG Admission 2023

Academy of Technology, Hooghly  offers a total of undergraduate courses with further specialization. B.Tech is a 4-year course. Academy of Technology offers B.Tech program at UG level. Academy of Technology Offers B.Tech program in four specializations.The intake capacity varies for each of the specializations. The institute also offers B.Tech Lateral Entry in same specializations for the duration of three years.

UG Admission - Eligibility, Fees, and Admission Criteria

The eligibility for B.Tech normal and lateral entry(Diploma & B.Sc holder) both is a minimum of 45% in the previous examinations. 10+2 pass candidates are eligible to apply. Admission is granted on the basis of score in WBJEE/ JEE Main/ CET or any other equivalent National or State level entrance test followed by counselling session organized by Central Selection Committee. 

PG Admission 2023

Academy of Technology, Hooghly  offers MCA. They offer a total seat intake of 60 seats. A relevant UG degree is mandatory in order to become eligible for admission. 

PG Admission - Eligibility, Fees, and Admission Criteria

Candidates for admission to the first semester of the Master's Degree Programme shall be required to have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field and obtain at least 50% marks in the same. GATE and JECA qualified candidates are eligible for admission to M.Tech and MCA programs respectively. CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT or any other National Level Test qualified candidates can apply for MBA programs.

Admission Form 2023

Candidates are advised to be prepared for the entrance examination and also have knowledge about which entrance test to be given as per the opted curriculum. The application form for respective courses can be filled by following the given steps:

1. Candidates are required to download the application from the official website of the institute.
2. Fill the application form completely and submit the same to the admission office of the college.
3. For the online application of the entrance exams such as WBJEE/ JEE Main/ JELET or JECA, the candidates have to visit the official websites of the respective portals.

The Academy of Technology Fee Structure is as per the college and university norms.

Placements

Academy of Technology, Hooghly has an active placement cell. They invite many renowned companies for on-campus recruitment opportunities. The total percentage of placement offers received in the year 2020 was 99.60%. The highest salary package that was offered to students was 8.00 LPA. While, the average salary package was 3.65 LPA. The top recruiters were Amazon, Asahi Glass, Accenture, IBM, Bansal Mechanical Works, Atmecs, Capgemini, Ceasefire etc. 

Placement 2019

The college offers placement for all the UG & PG courses. Placements are available for all branches of BTech such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & more. The college has a Placement Cell which is solely responsible for conducting placement drives for students.

Computer Science & Engineering holds the highest number of placement followed by Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electronics Engineering. Given below is the graph for the branch-wise placement.

Placement & Salary Trends

The placements of the college are improving year by year. In 2017, 81.49% of students got placed in top companies whereas, in 2019, the placement record has been increased to 91.24%. The detailed placement comparison of the previous years is given in the below graph.

As the placements are improving it had has a positive impact on the salary packages also. The highest salary package used to be 6 LPA in 2017 which has been increased to 9 LPA in 2018. However, in 2019 there is a little drop in the salary packages. Given below is the graph for the salary trends of previous years.

Scholarships

Academy of Technology offers assistance to students in receiving financial aid from various Government and Non-Government Organizations. It also offers assistance to help students avail educational loans from nationalized banks. Some scholarships are listed below:

• Scholarship/ Stipend from Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal for SC/ ST/ OBC students.
• Education Loan from Finance Corporation for students for Minority Community, and loan from West Bengal Minority Development
• Railway Concession for all eligible students.
