Welcome to the solemn precincts of our Institution Columbia College, established in the year 2004 with the aim of providing value-added education while striving for professional excellence and never forgetting ethical values. Situated in the heart of Bangalore city, Columbia Nursing College is a unit of Srinidhi Education Trust and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

The Trust was established with a mission to create centres for excellence in education and other related fields thereby serving society by enhancing the quality of life through value-based professional leadership. Ever since its inception, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research has made it a path-setter. Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery

Course Details

• COURSE - Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery
• Affiliated to - Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board, Bangalore
• Medium of instruction - English
• Annual intake  - 40
• Duration  - 3 years and Six months including the internship of six months clinical practices

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Passed two years pre-university examination or plus 2 or equivalent.
• Obtained 35% of the total marks.
• Age  limit  Completed 17 years of age on or before the time of admission up to 35 years.
• Admission is on merit basis in the previous qualifying examination.
• Admission starts in the month of February every Year.
• Applications are available in the Month of February -March
• Selection in the month of April-May
• Academic Year commences from first September.
• Students seeking admission should submit a separate application to the college in the prescribed format, available at the college Office or may be downloaded from the website  www.columbiacollege.co

• 10 + 2 marks card/PUC marks card
• Transfer Certificate from the Institution last attended
• Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended

Hostels

Hostel life plays an important role in shaping one's individuality. A hostel Inmate imbibes lot of responsibility because of hostel environment and It also promotes independent thinking. Separate hostels for boys and girls.

With necessary and efficient security, ensure the safe stay for outstation Students. Hostel inmates get a cozy and friendly environment, in their Room, sharing it with fellow students who hail from all parts of the country And abroad, Inter-hostel and intra- hostel recreational activities keep the Students engaged during leisure. Sports facilities, residing room equipped With newspapers and magazines, Internet facilities and access to Televisions are available in the hostel premises. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner served to the students cater both North and South Indian delicacies. The kitchen is a hi-tech one which is sterilized and Attached to the mess, and the food that is supplied is maintained in Hygienic condition.

Set in serene and picturesque surroundings, the hostels provide an appropriate ambience for the students to study and grow as individuals. Accommodation and mess facilities are provided at reasonable rates. Adequate outdoor and indoor sports facilities are available for the recreation of the students.

Hostels also have a Prayer hall, Library, Reading room, Gymnasium, Visitors room and a T.V. Room for the inmates. The inmates are looked after with love and care inculcating good values making the hostels truely "Home Away From Home"

Seperate hostel facilities are available for both men and women within the campus for the students .

Laboratories

We have well equipped labs separate for all the disciplines taught at Columbia College Nursing department also consist dog various well equipped high-tech Laboratories like the Nutrition lab, Nursing arts lab, Maternal and child Health lab and the Community lab, These labs have specialized simulation Models such as the CPR Manikin, Simulation Arm for lnjection Demonstration and simulation model for mechanism of labour.

Clinical Training

Health care today has reached a complexity that challenges all providers, Leadership and frontline health care workers. To meet the challenge of Health care, our college has tie-ups with well advanced high tech Multispecialty hospitals. As per the University requirement our students Are posted in all areas with the goal of providing the highest level of care to Each patient served. We provide practice training in the areas of medicine, Surgery, psychiatry, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and Community rehabilitation.

The college has a well organized library, under the supervision of qualified librarian and sufficient staff. E-books and e-journals are available at HELINET consortium of Digital Library at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. Besides, there are separate libraries in all the departments.
