A.P.S. Charitable Hospital, School & College of Nursing:

It is managed by Parul Educational Society. The Society was registered under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860) and as amended by Punjab Amendment Act 1957 on the 14th day of May 2003.

Parul Educational Society (Malsian campus) is situated half way on the Jalandhar – Moga highway (NH-703). The town is also linked by a railway line connecting Ferozpur, Ludhiana and Jalandhar. The Institution has been setup in such an environment which can provide the best atmosphere to the students to excel themselves in their related studies. The management itself has worked upon the various aspects to make sure that the Malsian campus becomes an ideal place for a student to have mental, physical, spiritual and social development. The state of art edifice fulfills each and every requirements of the student needed for their scholastic performance.
“Service above self” is the tenet observed by the members in the Society and the same thought is imparted to the employees and ultimately to the students, this is what which motivates everyone to become responsible in deeds.

A.P.S. College of Nursing is running three courses i.e.

• General Nursing & Midwifery,
• B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) &
• B.Sc. Nursing program.

The School of Nursing (formerly as Parul School of Nursing) offers 3 year diploma course in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) program. The School of Nursing has annual intake of 60 students. It was established in year 2004 and is affiliated with Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Chandigarh, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and Govt. of Punjab. It aims to provide quality education for preparing students for a successful career. There are 4 spacious and well-ventilated classrooms.
The College of Nursing was started in 2006 and provides 4 year degree course in Bachelor of Science in Nursing with annual intake of 40 students. In 2013 College of Nursing started B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) with intake of 20 students. It is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab Nurses’ Registration Council, Chandigarh, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi & Government of Punjab. The college has 6 well-ventilated lecture halls.
To facilitate the better learning atmosphere the College and School of Nursing have fully equipped laboratories of –

• Fundamental of nursing.
• Maternal and child health nursing.
• Community health nursing.
• Anatomy Museum & Lab.

In addition, the institution has also the setup of modern teaching techniques such as audiovisual aids. The library has the latest books to provide up-to-date information to the students in their studies, assignments and taking out references. The monthly and quarterly nursing journals and daily Newspapers are also subscribed which help the students in increasing their professional and general knowledge respectively. The college has well qualified teaching staff having rich professional experience and competent in their profession. In the past, the Institute has produced good results which give out a picture of the highly skilled professional teaching staff who are dedicated to their duties.

Other highlights of the Institution are:

• Spacious hostel rooms with individual bed, cupboard, chair, study table and book rack.
• Medical facility at hand available for students.
• Common room facilitated with television in each floor for students’ entertainment.
• Buses for taking students for clinical training.
• Cafeteria managed by the management itself and not given on contract. Food is prepared in clean and hygienic conditions.

It gives me immense pleasure to tell you that A.P.S. College of Nursing, Malsian, Jalandhar, stands apart from other nursing schools in the state of Punjab to give the quality education to the nursing professionals. G.N.M. started in academic year 2004, B.Sc. Nursing in 2006 and (Post Basic) B.Sc. Nursing in 2013 has produced meritorious students since then. The excellent teaching faculty and facilities, provide a superior learning experience to the students. The school also focuses on the entire personality building of the students who grow up in mental, social and spiritual aspects and moreover respect the professional ethics.

Course Offered:-

General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

Duration of Course: 

1. 3 years (Diploma).

Admission Procedure:

1. Minimum age for admission will be 17 years (as on 31st December of that year). The upper age limit is 35 years and for ANM /LHV there is no age bar.
2. Minimum education: 10+2 class passed or its equivalent preferably with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) subjects with aggregate of 40%.
3. Those who have cleared 10+2 vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
4. ANM training i.e. 1 ½ year ANM after 10th class should have passed +2 or its equivalent examination.
5. 5% relaxation is permitted to SC /ST students.
6. Admission of students shall be once in a year.
7. Students shall be medically fit.
8. In addition to the above, admission procedure can be laid down by concerned State Nursing Council /Nursing Examination Board

B.Sc. Nursing

Duration of Course:

1. 4 years Degree.

B.Sc. NURSING: ADMISSION CRITERIA:

1. Age: The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year seeking admission in B.Sc. Nursing.
2. Academic Qualification:
3. Higher secondary school certificate examination (12 year course)

OR

1. Senior secondary school certificate examination (10+2), pre-degree examination (10+2).

OR

• An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized boards or university with science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 45% aggregate marks (PCEB).

1. Candidate must be medically fit.

B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic)

Duration of Course:

• 2 Years. After GNM.
