Prof.D.K. Mishra completed his BAMS from Sampoornanad Sanskrit University, Varanasiand M.D. Kayachikitsa from Institute of Post Graduate Training & Researchin Ayurveda, Shyamadas Vidyapeeth, Kolkata. Prof. Mishra has more than 26 years of teaching and administrativeexperience. He served as Professor and Vice Principal SGM Ayurvedic College andHospital, Nandganj, Sahari Ghaipur, U.P.; Principal SUDAC Hoshiarpur; PrincipalJIAR Jammu; Professor and Vice-Principal at Guru Nanak Ayurvedic College,Gopalpur, Ludhiana,Punjab.

Ayurvedais a system of medicine. When translated from Sanskrit, Ayurveda means ‘thescience of life’. It provides us the knowledge of how to prevent disease and toeliminate the root cause if it does occur. Abhilashi  Ayurvedic  College and Research Institute (A Departmentof Abhilashi University) is situated at such a place, the surrounding of whichis so picturesque that makes it more suitable for teaching and training ofAyurvedic Education and Research. The surrounding flora is rich in importantmedicinal plants. Abhilashi Ayurvedic College and Research Institute is runninggraduation level programme, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS),which is recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), Government ofIndia. New Delhi. It is also running  Diploma in Pharmacy (Ayurveda) course. AbhilashiAyurvedic College and Research Institute has its own multi-specialty 60 beddedhospital, well-furnished pharmacy and a herbal garden of 5000m2 areaswith more than two hundred species of medicinal plants. In addition to CentralLibrary, College has its own working library with more than 10,000 books and 15journals related to Ayurveda.

The aims andobjectives:

1.   To promote the growth and developmentof Ayurveda.

2.   To produce graduates who couldefficiently serve in state Ayurvedic Health Services and also as AyurvedicPractitioners.

3.   To provide health care to patients byspecialists of various fields of Ayurveda.

4.   To co-ordinate with other State andNational Health Services for providing complete health care.

5.   To conduct “re-orientation” trainingprogrammes for Ayurvedic Physicians.

6.   Programme and activities

i)            BloodDonation Camps.

ii)          Conferences,Seminars and workshops on various health related issues.

iii)         SwachtaAbhiyan.

Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine andSurgery, B.A.M.S.

Abhilashi Ayurvedic College andResearch Institute is running Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)programme on the annual system of teaching and evaluation.

Duration: Five and half years including CompulsoryRotatory internship of one year.

Eligibility &Admission Criteria : Admissionto BAMS course will be done on the basis of merit in NEET and qualifyingexamination with minimum 50 % in 10+2 (medical) with valid NEET score. 5 %relaxation for SC/ ST.
