Introduction
Adarsh College of Nursing is situated on Patiala-Hisar Main Road, Vill Chounth, Patiala, Punjab about 15 KM from Patiala at Village Chounth near the Spinning Mil by the name of Rediant Textiles.
Introduction: Adarsh colllege of nursing is one of the most modern and well equipped nursing college of Punjab. It is widely recognized a centre of excellence in the field of nursing education. This college was started in the year 2004 by a group of dedicated medical professionals who has the vision and determination to provide quality education in the field of nursing.
Adarsh college of Nursing is managed by Nova Educational Society which is registered with registrar of societies .The society has been formed with the sole aim of providing quality education at affordable cost. The society is managed by highly qualified professionals .Most of the members of the society are highly qualified in their respective field. So, they understand the importance of technical & medical education. Nova education society is also running following institutions:-

Adarsh College of Nursing which was started 2004 and it never looked back. The college is duely recognised by Indian Nursing Counsil New Delhi by Punjab Nursing Counsil Chandigarh, Punjab Govt. and is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Faridkot. The college is in the process of getting attachment with international nursing forums. The college is situated in Punjab on Patiala Hisar National Highway Main Road in Distt Patiala. The College campus is at Vill. Chounth 15 km from Patiala City & 10 KM. from Sub. Divisional Town of Samana in Punjab.The College occupies in 5 acres of prime land with latest Buildings and Infrastructure as per INC Norms. In this college Education in all nursing courses is offered. Our college has M.SC.Nursing, B.SC.Nursing, B.SC.Post Basic Nursing, G.N.M, & A.N.M Courses. All the courses are dually recognized by I.N.C. , PNRC, Pb. Govt & are affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.The college has highly qualified and experience faculity. We have Ph.D Nursing , M.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Nursing, teachers. All the teachers are experienced dedicated & devoted to the cause of nursing and work hard to achieve the moto of our society" WE STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE". There are frequent visit of gets lecturers from National & International universities which bring their research to class rooms. 
 

The college has three story building. The class rooms are well vantilated with modern facilities like overhead projectors and computers to enhance the presentation of academic exercises. There are Audio Visual aids, T.V, DVD, Slide projectors, epidiascope, sound system, models and charts for the use of students & faculty members. There are seprate sections for M.SC, B.SC, B.SC Post Basic, G.N.M & A.N.M Students. College has spacious modern equipped laboratories on all subjects of nursing.We have big lab of fundamental nursing where nursing students are taught all fundamentals Principals of Nursing care on menikins similarly we have Nutrition Lab where students are taught about nutritional value of foods. We have Mother & child health lab. College also has Anatomy physiology and Microbiology Lab & community Lab. Central gas supply has been given to all the labs for doing experiment work by the students. The college has spacious well stocked library with sitting capacity of 120 students. There are about 3000 books on various subjects of nursing. Besides this latest national & international journals on nursing are regularly available in the library. Local news papers & magazines are prescribed for the library for the students. Library is open upto 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The college has auditorium where debates and declamation contest are regularly held in the college. We have Photostat facility, telephone & internet facility. Student can use internet to enhance their knowledge and to know latest developments in the field of nursing. College also has open air theatre. College possesses very good and comfortable hostel accommodation with in the campus. There is 24 hours security electricity supply with generator. The hostel rooms are well ventilated and fitted with tiles. Reading Table, chairs, beds, fans cupboards are provided in the rooms. There is common room with T.V. & Indoor games for recreation of the students. There is sick room where medical help is available. The hostel has spacious neat & clean & hygienic mess with sitting capacity of 150 students. Nutritious hygienic food is served to the students at reasonable cost. Hot & cold water supply is there. There are three water coolers fitted with RO which provides safe drinking water. Hostel & bathrooms are kept clean by the sweepers. Outdoor games and lush green lawns are part of campus. Keeping pace with the modern development Adarsh college of Nursing has permission from the concerned authorities to have clinical training of its students at one of the oldest well equipped teaching hospital of northern India ie RAJINDRA HOSPITAL PATIALA. This hospital has bed capacity of 1000 beds. Students gets training at specialty departments like Neuro Surgery, Neology, plastic Surgery, Micro Vascular surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Urology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Oncology, Endocrinoly, G.E Surgery, and transfusion medicine etc. Our college is also attached to one of the most modern state of art hospital ie COLUMBIA HOSPITAL PATIALA. This hospital has latest equipments techniques and students get international type of exposure in this hospital. This hospital has latest gadgets like C.T.Scane, MRI, Bronchoscopes, Colposcopes, Hysteroscopy, & Fibroptic endoscope, Ultrasound, digital X-Rays, Auto analyzer EEG, ECG, ICU & ICCU. The College is attached with community health centre Bhadson for rural field experience of nursing students and also attach to urban dispensary Tripuri Patiala. For Mother & Child experience and OBG + Gynae experience. Students go to MATA KUSHALIYA HOSPITAL PATIALA. The college is coming up in every field and achieving its goals and making name in the field of nursing in the state of Punjab. This all is due to tireless efforts of our teaching staff, Students & whole hearted Co-operation of Management.

B.Sc Nursing

Eligibility Criteria

• Admission criteria and Qualification: 
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 with the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English Individually and must have obtained a 40% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.  Or
  • Candidate has passed 10+2 examination in any stream other than science and holding 2 years full time regular diploma in a paramedical subject from a recognized medical college only.
• Lateral Entry: 
  • Candidate is eligible for lateral entry directly into the second year of B.Sc. course, if he/she has passed 10+2 (Science) and holding 2 years full time regular diploma in paramedical subject from a recognized medical college only.
• Admission Procedure: 
  • Admission shall be made as per the merit of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) marks taken together in 10+2 examination. In case of two or more candidates having equal marks in PCB in 10+2 examination, their Inter-se merit will be determined as under:-
  •  i) Candidate having higher marks in Biology
  •  ii) Candidate older in age.
• Medium of Instructions:
  • The medium of instruction of the course and examination shall be English.
• NRI: 
  • NRI candidates must obtain Eligibility certificate from the University before applying. Fee for issuance of Eligibility certificate is 200 US$ and Tuition fee is 2000 US$ for full course.

• Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or on equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose.
• Obtained a certificate in General nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council.
• Candidates shall be medically fit.

• Requisite caste certificate issued by the competent authority, if admission is against reserved category.

M.Sc Nursing

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
• The minimum educational qualification shall be the passing of: B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. (Hons.)Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks from an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
• Minimum one year of work experience after B.Sc. Nursing.
• Minimum one year of work experience before or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
• Candidates shall be medically fit.

• Certificate of passing the qualifying examination.
• Mark list of 10th, 12th and qualifying examination.
• Migration Certificate in original.
• Requisite caste certificate issued by the competent authority, if admission is against reserved category.

Courses Offered:

Important Information:-

• Every candidate getting admission to the college has to deposit original qualifying certificates for verification of the University/ PNRC/Concerned authorities.
• No candidate will be allowed to take their original certificate for any reason. If for some purpose the applicant insists on taking original certificate. He/ She has to pay full fees for the remaining period of course.
• Any candidate leaving any course in between has to pay fees for whole of the course period for getting N.O.C & Original certificates.
• Any students failing in any university examination and / or repeating the session will be charged college fees and residential fees for the additional period spent in the college & hostel as per rules.
• Security deposit is refundable and it should be claimed within one year of leaving the college after getting clearance as per rules.
• The Management reserves the right to revise the college fees, hostel fees and any other fees from time to time and these will be effective from the dates as may be decided.
• Candidates belonging to scheduled cast/tribes/OBC are required to furnish a certificate from competent authorities i.e. Dist. Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner/ Sub Divisional Magistrate/ Revenue officer, not below the rank of Tehsildar of the area where the candidate/ his family normally presides.
• Those candidates selected from outside Punjab for the course shall have to furnish migration certificate from their previous institution from where they have passed their last examination. They also have to provide eligibility certificate from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
• The institution considers ragging as a cognizable offence. Stern action against the offenders shall be taken. Anyone involved in ragging will be punished in accordance with law, including expulsion from the institute and/or imprisonment up to 3 years, and/or fine up to 25000/- .
• The Management reserves the right to suspend/terminate any students for indiscipline, misbehavior, bad conduct, disobeying the authorities & Non-Payment of dues etc.
• In case, any certificate found to have supplied false information, certificate etc. or is found to have concealed or withheld some information in her/his application form, she/he be debarred from admission. The College authorities may also take any appropriate action against the candidate which includes criminal prosecution.

Fee Structure :-

• Fees will be charged as per Govt. norms prescribed from time to time.
• Fees for Govt./Private instutions shall be fixed by the Govt. of Punjab as per provision of the Punjab Private Health Sciences Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission, Fixation of Fees & making of reservation Act, 2006) as amended from time to time.
• The fees structure subject to change as per requirements of the year of admission. Each & every student as to furnish under taking to  deposit enhanced fees as per revised dated fixed by the Govt. from time to time.
