ABOUT US 

AL-QAMAR EDUCATIONAL & CHARITABLE TRUST is registered in the year 2001 to start the institution in different fields of education such as Medical Science and Health Science under the dynamic leadership of Janab Alhaj Qamar-ul-Islam Sahab. He completed his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E.). He started his political career in 1978 and was the cabinet minister for Housing and Labour from October 1999 to May 2004. His vision is that education is the engine to transform society. A man of great vision, confidence, extremely kind hearted and over powering personality.

He is now heading many institutions such as Engineering college, Polytechnic College, Pharmacy College,Pre-University College, and various Primary and High Schools. He preferred to start Nursing Institute with B.Sc Degree(N) and Diploma Course with the object of educational and social upliftment of people of Hyderabad Karnataka region in general and Muslims in Particular.

The Trust is dedicated in continuing the noble work to impart quality education in the field of health sciences and rendering health services to the needy people of the society. Affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore recognized by Government of Karnataka, Karnataka Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council.

The students receive optimum professional guidance and training under our qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty. Individual attention is provided to each student in both academic as well as overall development. The proof of our dedication and quality of education provided is reflected by our alumni who are spread not only in our country but in other parts of the world as well, bringing glory to the institution that has made them what they are.

Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery

  The diploma course in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) is 3 years duration

Facilities

Nursing is indeed a Nobel profession as recounted from the time of Florence Nightingale. The students at the Institute are oriented to this Nobe l dictum of service to mankind. At the time, no effort is spared to acquaint them with modern medicine, it's theory and practice. The highly advanced facilities of the Al-Qamar College of Nursing, serves to expose Nursing students to the complexity of medical practice.
At the Institute, Nurses are encouraged to participate in Community Health Programs that bring out the pure essence of service to humanity. Both students and the community benefit immensely from these endeavours that form the core of the Al-Qamar Educational & Charitable Trust's beliefs.
The campus is situated in the heart of the City providing serene atmosphere for learning and assimilation. The campus provides all basic amenities and facilities and is approachable by road transport.
 

CLASS ROOMS & CONFERENCE HALL

All classrooms and lecture theaters are equipped with modern teaching aids and provided with comfort and conducive environment for learning and assimilation.
Nursing Practice: The entire Govt. General hospital with all its various specialties having a bed strength of 750 is made available to the students for clinical experience.
Clinical Training:
All the students of the college are posted at Govt. General Hospital for the Clinical Experience which has a bed strength of 750.

CLINICAL PRACTICE

Health Check-up at the time of admission and every year.
Students are posted in Govt. General Hospital for Clinical experience in various departments. It provides all the Clinical learning experience required under the supervision of Nursing Superintendent, Nursing Sisters and Clinical Instructor and transport facility provided. FIELD PRACTICE AREA
Rural and Urban Field Health Centres will be utilized for the field training. These rural / urban field health centres are fully equipped for the field training. This training in public health nursing is expected to enable the students to participate in the country's health programme and gain experience in community Nursing and Health Care.

 

LIBRARY

Nursing Library house is one of the largest collections of books. This collection, which contains print as well as non-print resources. The Library subscribes to numerous national as well as to the international periodicals. In addition to the circulation of materials, the Library offers services to the groups and to the individuals who requested, inter Library borrowing or materials, reference and research assistance, document delivery, numerous CD-ROM and on-line databases and internet access.
College has a well-equipped fully computerized Library which provides latest and up-to-date reference and course books. It is subscribing a large number of journals, newspapers and magazines.
The good collection of Video Tapes, CD-ROMs and Audio Cassettes on different subjects make the library unique. The Computer Lab equipped with Pentium base terminals and students have access to E-mail deciliters and latest software.

Under the valuable guidance of the faculty, nursing students shall be allowed to work in the following modern and technologically equipped labs:

Community & OB/ Gynae Lab (MCH)

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In view of the main aim of education as the total development of the person, a number of opportunities are provided for the students to develop their skills and talents at various levels, through membership to the Student and Trained Nurses Associations and participation at local, state and national conferences and scientific exhibitions which promote leadership potentialities in the students Besides these, opportunities to develop talents in music, dance, indoor and outdoor games and sports also are provided.

 

HOSTEL FACILITIES

Separate Hostel facility is available for both Boys and Girls which is situated about 1 km from the College building.
Hostel is very airy with water cooler and aquaguard facility and telephone.
Each students is provided with a Bed, Table, Chair and sufficient quantity of these articles are available with the college.
Hostel is provided with a Warden, Chowkidar, Peon and Sweeper.
Canteen and STD/ PCO facility is also available at the Hostel premises.
Malaria preventive medicine is given to the students to prevent them from this sickness.
 

CAFETERIA

The college has a cafeteria which serves wholesome food to the students, staff and faculty of the college on no profit basis.
 

TRANSPORT

The College has its own transport. Buses and ambulance are used for sending nursing students to clinical practice.
 

VACATION
Students are normally entitled to a 30 days vacation for a year and is arranged according to the convenience of the hospital and the college of Nursing.
