Educational Objectives

Educational Objectives

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or on equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986 will be eligible for admission.

2. Obtained a certificate in General nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas

  1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.

DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY (D. PHARMACY)

Diploma in Pharmacy, popularly known as D. PHARM is a two-year undergraduate diploma course offered by pharmacy colleges in India. The course is the minimum qualification to become a registered pharmacist in the country. Candidates having passed 10+2 exam or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology can eligible to pursue D. PHARM.

D. PHARM doesn’t provide specialization to choose from; only the basic concepts of pharmaceutical science are taught in this course. After successfully completing two years of D. PHARM and after registering with Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) or the state Pharmacy Council, one can set up his/her own pharmacy/chemist, in order to stock and sell medicines and dispense them according to a registered medical practitioner’s prescription. One can also become medical representative after pursuing the course.

PRACTICAL TRAINING

  • PRACTICAL TRAINING

    Practical Training : After passing Second Year D. PHARM Examination the student shall undergo compulsory practical training of 500 Hours over a period of 3 months at approved Hospital / Pharmacy.
    Results : Student shall secure a minimum of 40% marks to pass, minimum of 50% marks for second class, minimum of 60% marks for first class and minimum of 75% marks for distinction.

  • The GNM program is affiliated to the Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board. Karnataka State Diploma Nursing Examination Board, Bangalore was re-established from 1st June 1993. It was established with an objective to enable the Nursing institutions to grant high standard of Nursing education & nursing practice, to train and develop nurses for taking part effectively in the National Health Care delivery Programmes and to provide scope for modernism of Nursing education by research & experimentation.

  • The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) is the statutory body of government of India also called as central council constituted under the Pharmacy Act, 1948. The Council was first constituted on 4 March 1948. The Pharmacy Council of India is constituted by central government every five years. They are based in New Delhi which is linked to the Ministry of Health Services and Family welfare.

  • The Government of Mysore have constituted the Board of Examining Authority in the year 1966 under regulation 12 of the Education Regulations of Pharmacy Council of India. The Board shall conduct examinations at the end of first year course and second year course of study according to the prescribed syllabus and scheme of examination as given in the Education Regulation of the Pharmacy Council of India. The Board shall inspect the institution from time to time and approve well equipped institutions for the purpose of conduction of examinations in a satisfactory manner as required in Appendix-D of the Education Regulations of Pharmacy Council of India.

Basic of Selection: The selection of the candidates for admission to all courses will be made on basis of the merit and must appear for the Entrance Exam.
Entrance Test: Date and venue of entrance test will be intimated by the respective department/Institution and the Test will contain objective type (Multiple Choice) questions.
