GNM Nursing

GNM referred as General Nursing and Midwifery it deals with the education of nurses in general health care, nursing, and midwifery. It is a 3 years long Diploma program. The academic program is 3 years long and 6 months are dedicated towards internship. Internship is mandatory. This programme will boost you in career prospects. After completing this course, successful candidates may register themselves as a registered nurse or midwife with state nurse registration council.

Duration : 3 Years

Eligibility : 10+2

Eligibility

• Must have passed 10+2 Pre University or equivalent with English as an optional subject. (Preference will be given to science candidates).
• A candidates should have secured minimum of 40% in the previous course
• Minimum & maximum age for admission will be 17 years & 35 years respectively.

Documents

Documents required during the time of admissions are as follows:

• S.S.L.C/Xth Standard Marks Cards (Original+ 3 attested copies).
• IInd PUC/XII Standard Marks Cards (Original+ 3 attested copies).
• Transfer/School leaving Certificate from Previous (Original+ 3 attested copies).
• Migration Certificate (Original+ 3 attested copies).
• Character Certificate from the previous institution (Original+ 3 attested copies).
• 10 passport size photos

Examination

• Students shall have board examination at the end of each year. Minimum pass marks shall be 50% in each of the theory and practical separately.
• Internal tests will be conducted periodically to evaluate the student's performance in each subject. The average marks will be sent to the board as internal assessment, for both theory and practical.
• A model exam will be conducted before the board examination. To prepare the students to face the annual exam.
• Students must secure 80% attendance in theory and 100% attendance in practical to get eligibility to appear for the examination.
• Carry over system: The benefit of carry over system is extended to the students of Diploma Nursing course. The candidates shall complete all the subjects of first year before appearing for third year examinations.

The college boasts of having a resourceful team of qualified faculty who are graduates & post graduates in their respective fields from premier Nursing and medical institutes and having abundant Industry exposure. All departments are headed by professors to guide the post graduate students for their research work and are recognized by KNC & RGUHS, Bangalore. Student - teacher ratio is followed as per the norms of RGUHS, Bengaluru and INC, New Delhi.

Class Room

All the class rooms are well ventilated, spacious, and well-furnished. The facilities are provided to use all the audio - visual aids for the teaching like charts, models, boards, slide projector, OHP, LCD projector, DVD player, TV, and sound system to make the learning process an exciting experience.

Well Equipped Laboratory

The campus is well-equipped with laboratories including Anatomy, Lab, Nursing foundation lab, Nutrition lab, and community Health Nursing lab, Maternity and Child health lab, Microbiology lab and Computer Laboratory with all the upgraded instruments for practical exposure.

Library

The heart of the college i.e., library is nourished with 1092 titles, 1321 volumes, 165 bound back volumes, 10 journals, many number of CDs, Video Cassettes, Photo Albums, etc. It has become a resource center for the research workers and other needy. The library transactions are made fully computerised and operate through easy lib. Students can carry required books through Book-Bank facility. The college purchases books to the library every year as per the needs of the students and recommendation of the staff members.

Hostel

Separate hostels are provided for boys and girls. Girls' hostel is within the campus premise. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished, with good ventilation and properly lit. Separate sleeping, seating and storage facilities are provided in each of the rooms.

Transport

We maintain a fleet of vehicles including several buses to transport students to their respective study centres and to clinical area. The transport facility is also provided to students and the staff of the colleges from different places of Bangalore and surrounding area, The buses are also provided to the students for University related works, fests and for sports and cultural competitions held in different colleges.

Sports & Cultural Activities

The school & college whole-heartedly encourages students to undertake and participate in extra curricular activities through a multi-faceted campus events comprising of sports, picnics, excursions, competitions, cultural events, etc.

Hostel Rules And Regulations

Ragging of any sort of co-students are strictly prohibited and punishable as per Anti-Ragging Act-of 1980 and is a non-bailable offence. The original documents of the candidates found including in ragging shall be endorsed for further act, which will prevent them from further studies any where in the world

Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. usage of drugs or any one found dealing or abusing the use of drugs is liable for enquiry and final termination both from the School/ College and hostel.

Students residing in the hostel are directed to follow the timings and rules and regulations. Keep the hostel premises neat and clean.

Conduct and Discipline

• Students are required to maintain ethical and professional standard and behavior.
• Students should make every effort to take care of the School/ College, Hostel and Hospital property.
• Students are required to follow the Rules and Regulations laid by the Hospital, Hostel and School / College Authorities.
• The Authority reserves all the rights to suspend or dismiss any student, whose behavior and conduct is found compromising either inside or outside the College/ School campus.
