ABOUT US

The school of nursing was founded in 1975 to train students to become an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife(ANM) and in the year 2000, the school of nursing upgraded to train students in General Nursing and Midwifery(GNM).

The Nursing school follows a model of integrating the nursing service and the education by the systematic and regular presence of the tutors in the ward, both supervising and guiding the nursing students.  Last academic year there were 8 faculties and 78 students in the school.

GNM COURSE STRUCTURE:

Biological sciences: Anatomy and physiology and microbiology Nursing foundations
Behavioral sciences: psychology and sociology
Nursing foundations including first aid
Community healthy nursing including environmental hygiene, nutrition, communication skills
Medical- surgical nursing
Child health nursing
Psychiatric and mental health nursing
Midwifery and gynecological nursing
Community health nursing

CLINICAL EXPOSURE:

Medical and surgical wards and OPD
Gynecology and obstetrics including NICU
Operation theatre
Psychiatric posting in CIP Ranchi
Pediatric wards and OPD
Community health postings
Dialysis unit
Burns unit
Ortho urology and neurology wards

FIELD TRIPS:

Community health center, Primary health center and sub center
Municipality office
District hospital – nutrition rehabilitation center
Old age home
Factory visit- occupational health

Extra-Curricular and Co-Curricular Activities

• The Student Nurses Association Activities conducts several programmes every year , such as cultural fest,  Freshers part & Farewell party, Food fest etc..
•  They also conduct various competitions such as drawing, GK quiz,  anatomy quiz, etc..
• They also celebrate several important days such as Children’s day, World Mental Health day, World AIDS day, Christmas day etc.
• All batches of Students are taken for excursions to  historic places in and around Chhatarpur district such as Pandav, Ranhe Falls and Khajuraho.
• The Nursing students are also made to participate in conferences held across the country for exposure, such as Biennial Conference of the Christian Medical Association of India at Bhubaneswar, ConFest 2018 at College of Nursing Christian Medical College Vellore etc....
