DJAC & DJH(Ayur) is a tangible clique of DJ Group of Institutions, Divya Jyoti Hospital(Ayurvedic) aiming at consolidation of medical education, clinical care, and medical research through unprecedented initiatives by all its stakeholders. Spearheaded by the Jassar Dental Medical Education Health Foundation piloted by stalwart visionary Mr. Ajit Singh Jassar, the unit extends commitment to community service athwart education and healthcare. The society is also running Divya Jyoti Institute of Dental Sciences & Research, Divya Jyoti Institute of Engineering & Technology and Divya Jyoti Nursing School and Divya Jyoti Institute of Medical Sciences and Research* very successfully since last many years catering to students from across the country as well as Iran, Iraq and Nigeria. Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.)

The practice of Ayurveda as a health care tool has been in vogue in Indian subcontinent since ancient times. But it was neglected during the Indian colonial period by the British Indian Govt. The rejuvenation of this Indian medical system started with the independence of India. Presently, Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy, abbreviated as AYUSH, is a governmental body in India which is responsible for promotion of Ayurvedic education and research.Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery is a graduate degree. B.A.M.S is the shortened form of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery. The program is having a duration of 5 ½ years including a one-year internship program. Once an aspirant completes the B.A.M.S program, they will be known as ‘Ayurvedacharya’. The syllabus of this course is a mixture of integrated topics of modern medicine and traditional Ayurveda.The Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM)—the agency that monitors education and research in Ayurveda—applies rigorous standards before the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) programme is allowed to be started by any organization.

Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery

The qualification needed for the B.A.M.S program is a pass in an intermediate program with Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Sanskrit. The candidate must pass +2 from a recognized board. The minimum age limit is 17 years. Some colleges also provide certificate programs from 1 to 2 years. Qualification needed for such program is Matriculation with Sanskrit or an equivalent exam.
