The journey of faran Institution

The Faran Educational Trust (R) was established in 1991, with the chairmanship of Mr.Meer Ariffulla.The Management & staff of the Faran group of institutions believe that the basic course in nursing is the formal educational preparation with extensive clinical training in the hospital & community based on physical, Biological and social Science.We have responsibility towards students to develop as a professional nurse to care of individuals and society during illness and wellness and also an individuals and a good citizen.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

• Provide a balance of professional & general education to enable the students to become professional nurse practitioners who take up the first level nurse positions in institutional nursing services & as well as in the community.
• Develop broad concept of the fundamental principles of the nursing care based on sound knowledge of physical, biological, social & behavioral sciences & adequate skills to provide professional nursing care.
• Develop the ability to investigate the nursing care problems & provide suitable remedial measures.
• Develop the ability to work co-operatively with other members of allied disciplines towards attaining the optimum health for all members of the society.
• Understand the principles of teaching & learning & apply these principles in health education.
• Ability to assume responsibility for continuing education for the professional & their personal development.

History

Facilities

The faran College and School of Nursing is functioning in our own premises, a modern building located in one acre of land situated in serene surroundings with unpolluted atmosphere by the side of Bagalur Main Road(Bangalore International Airport Road).

Class Rooms:
We have adequate and more number of class rooms with modern furniture and provision for projectable audiovisual aids. The classrooms are spacious, well ventilated and no disturbance by external stimuli.

Laboratory:
We have all laboratories as prescribed by Indian Nursing council. They are well ventilated, well equipped and well spacious for the effective demonstration of needed procedures.

Library:
One full wing of the college is earmarked for the library purpose with attached room with computers for helinet facilities. The library has got adequate number of books of latest edition and journals on all the subjects. There is separate reference book shelf for immediate reference. Students can borrow three books at a time and for the teachers borrow ten books of different subjects and that can be renewed after one week. It has got separate journal section in addition to helinet facilities.

Computer Training:
The management has provided a separate computer training facility with aim of making every student a computer literate.

Clinical Facilities
The Faran College and School of Nursing provide with best possible clinical facilities at our own Faran Health Care Center, Apex Hospital,Santhosh Hospital , Govt. General Hospital K.R.Puram, Govt. General Hospital Yelahanka for general Medical surgical Nursing, HSIS Ghosha Hospital Bangalore for maternity posting and for the specialty area we make use of Kidwadi Cancer Institute and Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology and Indhira Gandhi Institute of child health & Karnataka institute of mental health,Dharwad.

For the community health Nursing practice, students go to K. Narayanapura primary Health center for urban posting,our own community health center at Hegde Nagar and for rural posting they go to kadusonnappanahalli primary health centre.

We are providing free IELTS and NCLEX-RN Training along with Global Strategic solution(GS3),Chennai

Transport
Our Institution is provided with four transport vehicles of varying capacity from 25 to 60 commuters. They are used for transporting staff and students from the college to the field practice area and back.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing

Over View

The diploma in nursing program is of 3 years duration. It is affiliated to Karnataka state nursing council, Bangalore, Karnataka, Karnataka state diploma in nursing examination board and recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi vide certificate No: 18-675-2000-INC. Duration : 3 Years Eligibility : A Minimum of 50% in PUC / 12th GRADE / ‘A’ Level / +2 / ISC with any combination

Admission Criteria :

• Minimum & Maximum age for admission will be 17 – 35 years respectively. For ANM/LHV, there is no age bar.
• 10,+2 Class passed or its equivalent preferably with science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English) subjects with aggregate of 50% marks.
• Those who have cleared 10+2 vocational ANM course (revised after 2001) from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
• ANM training i.e 10+1year & 6months training should also have passed, 10+2 or its equivalent examination.
• Admission of students shall be once in year.
• Students should be medically fit.
• Be medically fit.
• Have good personal and professional record.
• In addition to the above the admission procedure can be laid down by concerned State Nursing Council/Nursing Examination Boards.
