INTRODUCTION

Gian Sagar College of Nursing has been establishment under the aegis of Gian Sagar Education & Charitable Trust (Regd.). The Trust is being managed by medical professionals fully dedicated to undertake Human Resources Development Programmes through Educational, Health and Community Welfare activities by establishing Schools, College, Hospitals and Social Welfare Centers.
The aim and objectives of the Trust thrust upon establishing, maintaining and developing Educational Institutions, Dispensaries, Clinics, Laboratories, Medical and Nursing Colleges for the socially backward and general public. It focuses on providing Medical and Educational facilities for the down trodden strata of the society with the particular focus on women folk of the region. Efforts are made to maintain a Centre of Excellence for the pursuit of higher studies in Nursing which ace as a base shelter for the contemporary and future needs of new developments.
In order to fulfill the wishful desire, the Trust has established the institution under the name of Gian Sagar College of Nursing which was approved by INC, PNRC and affiliated to BFUHS, Faridkot.

PHILOSOPHY

The institute believes to train Professional Nurses to meet the challenge of Modern Health Care Delivery System in conformity with the discipline of Nursing Profession equivalent to International Standards. The basic principle guiding the College of Nursing will be the noble ideal of service with a spirit of renunciation, sacrificing one’s own interest for a greater cause, which the Institution endeavors to give effect through its multi-farious activities. The Management strongly believes in serving the society for a sustainable growth, a growth which will not be partial but takes all strata of society together on the path of progress so that no one is left behind.
The main purpose of Nursing College will be to provide educational programme through which the students will be prepared to assume responsibility in the primary, secondary and tertiary level care of patients as Nurses. It is expected that the students will be capable of teaching, supervising, providing appropriate nursing and health care in different settings and participate in administration of nursing services and education. It is also believed that strengthening the technical and higher nursing education in rural area will empower the young women to explore numerous avenues leading to financial independence.

OBJECTIVES

• To prepare nurse clinicians for bed side and community health care including their supervisory roles.
• To prepare nurse educators to assume responsibility to supervise, guide and prepare the future nursing personnel.
• To prepare nurse administrators to assume responsibility to hospital & community for health care services.
• To facilitate young women, who opt for nursing as a career, to become strong force in the health care delivery system after attaining knowledge and skills during their study period.
• To enable the students to attain strong basic foundation for their career and also to pursue higher studies in the field of nursing.
• To empower the professionally sound qualified nurse to get numerous future avenues leading to financial independence.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Gian Sagar Educational & Charitable Trust has 100 acres of land in Chandigarh-Rajpura Road. So far 30,000,00 Sq. Ft. of world class construction has been completed for its institutions. Gian Sagar College of Nursing spreads over an area of 21 acres of land with 5 acres exclusively earmarked for Nursing college in lush green surrounding that provides a clean, open and pollution fee academic environment. The institute has been offering B.Sc. Nursing 04 year course since 2019.
This is an important landmark in the history of this rural but historical belt of Patiala District, as there educational activities will lead to better health services & quality patient care. The institute is committed to provide quality Nursing Education. This institute is going to become one of its own kinds in imparting the liberal education (intellectual, moral and physical) on complete national pattern with a view towards all round development of the students to enable them to compete globally.
This institute has a very Magnificent & total Centrally Air Conditioned Building with spacious Class Rooms, well equipped Science Labs & Demonstration Rooms etc. All the labs are well equipped as per INC norms. Classrooms teaching in all the subjects are imparted by well qualified professional faculty by using modern modalities of teaching. Theory is well integrated into Clinical Training by placing the students in its own hospital i.e. Gian Sagar Medical College & Hospital and having all latest gadgets for quality patient care matching to global standards. For clinical practice in community Health Nursing students are posted in adopted Rural & Urban Health Centers at Gaju Khera & Rajpura respectively and Govt. Primary Health Centre, Kalo Majra & Community Health Centre, Banur. Both in hospital and community health centers students are continuously supervised & guided by their teachers.

It gives me immense pleasure to announce that GIAN SAGAR COLLEGE OF NURSING has been established under the aegis of GIAN SAGAR EDUCATIONAL & CHARITABLE TRUST (REGD.). The magnificent building (Centrally air-conditioned) with specious class rooms, well equipped labs & Library as per INC norms is located in an area of 05 acres of land with lust green surroundings. This state of art institute is recognized by Punjab Govt., PNRC, INC (New Delhi and BFUHS (Baba Farid University of Health Sciences).
The institute believes to prepare professional nurses to meet the challenges of modern health care delivery system. I believe that this is an invaluable investment through strengthening the technical and higher nursing education in rural surroundings which will empower the young generation to become financially independent through numerous future avenues.
To meet the global nursing challenges the latest educational technology is practiced by well qualified and experienced faculty to provide quality education leading to quality patient care. Besides teaching, the students are engaged in extra-curricular activities to nurture their creative talents and equipping them towards all round development. Faculty development is consistent through their active participation in literary activities at college level, conferences and workshops at state, national and international level.
