Introduction

Rajkiya Ayurvedic College , Varanasi was established in 1965 by Padma Vibhushan Pandit Satya Narayan Shastri, the then personal physician of President of India in this holy soil of Kashi is rapidly developing day by day both in the rendering medical services to the ailing humanities as well as in producing high quality doctors. In this connection our institution is running Post Graduate Courses in the subject of Panchakarma, Shalyatantra, Rog Nidan, Prasuti Tantra-Stri Roga, Rasa Shastra and samhita-Siddhanta, A mini and beautiful herbal grden has been developed inside the campus, which is having numerous valuable medicinal plants. Our Panchakarma therapies like Vaman, Virechan, Vasti (Anuvasan sand Asthapan), Nasya, Raktamokshan, Kati Vasti, Janu Vasti, Nadi Sweda, Shirodhara, Shiro Vasti, Sastik Shali Pinda Sweda, Valuka Sweda, Sarvangadhara etc. are attracting the attention of intellectuals in which Raktamokshan (Blood letting treatment) by Multiple Vacuum Syringe Procedure is one of its novelties. Khar-Sutra Therapy, Angikarma, Jalauka-Avacharan, Yoga-therapy and physiotherapy are being applied regularly to the proper patients which bring immense miraculous results. Dept. of Kayachikitsa, Shalya, Stri Prasuti and Bal-Rog are redering the multi-dimensional services by treating the patients. Our pathology department is providing investigation facilities like X-Ray, E.C.G., PFT, TMT and all other bio-chemical tests as the diagnostic tools of the diseases.

Apart from these, the departments like Kriya Sharir, Rachna Sharir, Dravyaguna, Ras Shastra, Smhita-Siddhanta etc. are academically enriching the fundamentals of Ayurveda on which the great edifice of clinical facilities has been erected.

The mission of college is to provide a value-based education and mould the character of our younger generation through synergy of science and spirituality. Providing excellent traditional and classical Ayurveda treatment by a team of dedicated doctors and creating a premier, patient focused and integrated health care delivery system. The Faculty of Ayurveda has been established with the following aims and objectives:

• To impart high quality graduate and postgraduate training in all branches of Ayurveda.
• To envision, organize and conduct research on various aspects of Ayurveda.
• To establish a Centre of Excellence that provides Ayurvedic medical care to suffering humanity.
