About Us

Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society has established the College of Nursing with an objective to provide an educational Programme through which the graduates are prepared to assume responsibility in the Primary, Secondary & Tertiary care of people as a professional nurse. The aim of the institution was to meet the demand of Nursing personnel in this region and serve the state & nation as well.

The College was the first of its kind to emerge in 1991 as private Nursing Institution with 13 students as intake during the tenure of Dr. B.G. Jawali.

The College was started in the 1st floor of CT Scan BTGH, with 3 lecture halls and 1 Nursing lab, under the able administration of Dr. P. S. Shankar, Dean MRMC Gulbarga. In 1993 Sri. A.P. Chowdiah, took charge as Principal of H.K.E.S College of Nursing Gulbarga. Later the College of Nursing was shifted to IInd floor of BTGH in 1994. A new College building was inaugurated inside BTGH Campus on 24.11.1999 by Sri. S.M. Krishna the then Chief Minister of Karnataka.

3. Post Basic Nursing-2 Years duration

B.Sc. (Nursing)

The college offers B.Sc (Nursing) course of 4.5 years, with intake of 60 students.

The various Departments of College of Nursing are:

• Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing.
• Department of Midwifery including Maternity and Gynecological Nursing.
• Department of Child Health Nursing.
• Department of Community Health Nursing.

Following are future plans of the College with all requirements and inspection by concerned authorities are under progress.

• Child Health Nursing

Infrastructure

Existing: The College provides 4 class rooms and 3 labs which are well equipped & experienced teaching PG faculty in their subjects.

5. Community Health Nursing Lab

Under Construction: 2 class rooms for PG course, a Central Library and 2 Laboratories.
