Jahan institute of Nursing Sciences (JINS) and Jahan institute of Para Medical sciences (JIPS) established in 2019 by a group of Medical and Nursing Professionals who have put up more than 25 years of clinical and academic experience in the field of health and medical education. The institution is run by Prerana Educational And Charitable Trust (PECT), a not for profit trust. Jahan institutions Provides an ideal ambience to stimulate the teaching-learning process, helping in bringing out skilled and disciplined Health professionals. It aims to develop professionals through holistic education focusing on individual growth, discipline, integrity, ethics and social sensitivity.

The college has well-qualified & experienced teaching faculty, who strive hard to impart quality nursing education and give personal attention to each student. The college has well equipped and spacious classrooms and laboratories.

A home away from home', is the concept of hostels in JINS. We provide the best possible comfort needed for students. Hostel rooms are of sharing type. The number of students accommodated in a room depends on the concentration and privacy required for the student. There are separate hostels for Boys and Girls. There is only one common mess for all the boarders and is provided with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The boarders are provided sports, guest rooms for parents and Wi-Fi facilities. The hostels buildings are installed with CCTV’s, to provide 24x7 enhanced safety and security to the students.

Jahan Library has a vast collection of books, reference books, bound volumes, national and international journals, e- books, e- journals, encyclopedia and other multimedia resources. Institution has subscribed to Helinet e-Books of RGUHS which provides 24x7 accessing to e-books which includes health journals and. research database for accessing health related insight, written research, access to peer portal, these resources are web based can be accessed anytime.

JINS having its own parent Hospital, Jayashree multi-specialty hospital which is 100 bedded NABH accredited Hospital. Clinical facility is exclusively for the JINS students. JINS is also affiliated to Government general Hospital Anekal, which is 7 Km away from the institution. It is 100 bedded hospital with all clinical departments with specialty areas. JINS is affiliated to Primary Health Centre Marasur, For rural community and CHC Anekal for Urban community health clinical experience.

Transportation facility is available from Institute to, Hostel, Hospitals, Community health center and Observational visits in and around Bangalore.

Counselling and Guidance services are provided by the college faculty to deal with Personal problems of the students

The basic health services are provided to the students at Oxford Medical college hospital and Government hospital Marasur, which are close proximal to the institution.

(General Nursing Midwifery) GNM Nursing

Course Overview

GNM referred as General Nursing and Midwifery it deals with the education of nurses in general health care, nursing, and midwifery. It is a 3 years long Diploma program. The academic program is 3 years long and 6 months are dedicated towards internship. Internship is mandatory. This programme will boost you in career prospects. After completing this course, successful candidates may register themselves as a registered nurse or midwife with state nurse registration council.

Eligibility

Following are the Eligibility Criteria for the course:

• Must have passed 10+2 Pre University or equivalent with English as an optional subject. (Preference will be given to science candidates).
• A candidates should have secured minimum of 40% in the previous course
• Minimum & maximum age for admission will be 17 years & 35 years respectively.

• S.S.L.C/Xth Standard Marks Cards (Original+ 3 attested copies).
• IInd PUC/XII Standard Marks Cards (Original+ 3 attested copies).
• Transfer/School leaving Certificate from Previous (Original+ 3 attested copies).

Examination Details

Course Examination Details Pattern and procedures below

• Students shall have board examination at the end of each year. Minimum pass marks shall be 50% in each of the theory and practical separately.
• Internal tests will be conducted periodically to evaluate the student's performance in each subject. The average marks will be sent to the board as internal assessment, for both theory and practical.
• A model exam will be conducted before the board examination. To prepare the students to face the annual exam.
• Students must secure 80% attendance in theory and 100% attendance in practical to get eligibility to appear for the examination.
• Carry over system: The benefit of carry over system is extended to the students of Diploma Nursing course. The candidates shall complete all the subjects of first year before appearing for third year examinations.
