Jeevan Jyothi Convent & Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing is under direct management of the Sisters of the Society of Jesus, Mary, Joseph (JMJ). Then the Bishop of Jamshedpur Most Rev. Joseph Rodericks invited the Sisters in the year 1985 to establish and conduct a Nursing School in Jamshedpur, Telco, which had a 550 bedded Hospital offered to provide clinical experience to the student nurses. The three Sisters Sr. Jerome Ukkan, Sr. Fidelis Manjali and Sr. Fabiana Kavungal arrived from Hyderabad on November 14th 1985 and started Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing on 10.01.1986.The establishment of the Nursing School here in Telco is initiation of Dr. C. N. Sharma Director, Medical Services, with the sole objective of uplifting the nursing care and to give the comprehensive care to the patients and to build up the morale of nurses working in Telco Hospital. Thus the idea of the Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing came into existence.

Our Society

The Society of Jesus Mary Joseph (JMJ) was founded in 1822 in Netherlands, by Rev. Fr. Mathias Wolff S.J., a Jesuit Priest and a Charismatic leader, who was moved and led by the Holy Spirit to work for the liberation of oppressed and suppressed people of his time in Netherlands. His Charism is Ever Adaptable Apostolic Availability. In keeping with the Charism, the sisters of J.M.J are invited to carry the four corners of the world and to be flexible to adapt and avail themselves, to teach and heal the sick and suffering. The Society of J.M.J. has its establishments in Netherlands, Indonesia, India, Rome, West Africa and USA.

The vision of nursing education is to develop and transform the young aspiring into competent & dedicated nurses, who enter the portals of Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing, who can visualize & profess the Divine in the care of sick and needy globally.

MISSION

Our Mission is to set a standard in the nursing profession by preparing skilled and expertise nurses to deliver quality nursing care both in the hospital and underprivileged in the community.

Principal's Message

Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing is a private organisation is committed to providing quality nursing education since its inception. JJSN is fortunate to be affiliated with Tata Motors Hospital, It is a parent affiliated hospital, so when our students go into their clinical rotations, they are learning alongside the best nurses in their chosen field. Then, as now, students learned to practice professional nursing with compassion, excellence, vision, enthusiasm and integrity. We continue to educate excellent nurses who share these same values. Since our profession is ultimately about caring for people, we make sure our students get as much hands-on patient care experience as possible.

The staff and students have been inspired and guided through the years by the motto "Love, Care, Share". The faculty and staff put a lot of effort into helping our students succeed: flexible academic programs, comprehensive career and affordability are just some of the things that add value to a JJSN's education.

Eligibility Criteria

1. 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable.

Facilities

Parent Hospital

Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing is affiliated to Tata Motors hospital (ISO-9001-2015, NABL Accredited, Multispecialty, DNB-Post Graduate Teaching Hospital) which has 404 bedded; well-equipped, with a history of more than 52 years of dedicated and compassionate service to the society at affordable cost. Students are given rotation in all the wards of the hospital under the close supervision of a team of well qualified, experienced and dedicated teachers. Students are given the freedom to independently carry out patient care procedures to gain confidence, which fosters the clinical competencies of the students.

Lecture Hall

Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing has spacious and well ventilated classrooms with comfortable seating arrangements. Each classroom is equipped with Green Board, OHP and LCD.

Laboratory

The School has well-furnished laboratories for the students to practice patient care procedure, to gain confidence before performing them for the patients in the hospital.

Library

Library has more than 1500 nursing books, National and International Journals, round the clock and internet facilities to cater to the quest for learning.

Hostel Block

Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing hostel offers comfortable stay for the students within the campus during their course of study. The hostel is clean and comfortable, and each room is provided with adequate facilities for stay and study.

The hostel has a Study Hall, Prayer Hall and facilities for Indoor Games.

Students are provided with Magazines, Newspaper and Television to update their general knowledge and for entertainment purposes.

Mess facilities are available with a well maintained cafeteria within the hostel.

Vegetarian/ Non-Vegetarian nutritious diet are prepared hygienically and served visually.
