About Mother Teresa College of Nursing

The Jalahalli Education Society is dedicated to high quality of education since 1981. The Mother Teresa College of Nursing and School of Nursing was started in 2003. It is located in a convenient location with access to facilities like city buses, train and all kinds of transportation. It is surrounded by many multi-specialty hospitals and lots of greenery. The institution has all modern facilities for training like lab, own building, vehicles, qualified and experienced teaching staff with professional senior advisors for guidance.

Courses Offered

Diploma in Nursing

This is a 3 ½ years programme, recognized by the Government of Karnataka and approved by the INC & KNC. Theory classes, practical demonstration, clinical postings and field visits are included in the syllabus. Students need to complete 6 months internship to fulfill the course requirements.
 

 Age limit for Admission

Minimum age for admission will be 17 years (as on 31st December of that year) The upper age limit is 35 yrs. For ANM/for LHV, there is no age bar.

 Educational qualification

The candidate should have passed HSC / 10th, +2 any subject or vocational nursing group, with 40% and above marks from any Recognized Board. However Science is preferable.

Registered ANM

Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by state Government and National Institute of open school (NIOS) recognized by Central Government.

For foreign Nationals: The entry qualification equivalency i.e 12thstandard will be obtained by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Institution, State Nursing Council will be responsible to ensure that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above.

Commencement & Duration of the course

The GNM course commences on 1st August. The duration of the study shall extend over a period of three academic years.

Library

We have well stocked Library which includes latest books in all subjects , national & international journals which also offers internet , email and photocopying services to its readers . Strict adherence to the code of conduct inside the library is a must for all categories of readers. seating comfort , ventilation and lights have been well taken care of.

Laboratory Facilities

Our well equipped laboratories for Anatomy & Physiology, Fundamental of Nursing ,Maternity , Child health , Community Health Nursing , Computer Lab, Sports lab, Audio-Visual aids help the students to get fine skills in performing the procedures..

Clinical Experience

Clinical experience for the students is provided at various hospitals such as District Head Quarters hospital- Chittoor, SVRR government general hospital - Tirupati , KH Apollo Hospital - Ranipet , Apollo Hospitals - Chennai. Here they get best experience in taking care of patients in various speciality areas under the supervision of faculty.

Hostel

Hostel is well ventilated with excellent living rooms 24 hours water supply, recreation room, study hall where they feel at home. Mess provides hygienic and nutritious vegetarian & Non- Vegetarian food at a very reasonable rate . Furniture , food recreation and all other aspects of comforts have been given high priority . The facilities for out door and in door games adds to the attainment of physical & mental fitness of the students .

Vaccination

Hepatitis B & vaccination is mandatory for all students .If the student has the full course of vaccination need to produce certificates.
