About KMC Mangalore?

Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore was started in 1955, utilizing the clinical facilities of the Government Wenlock Hospital and Government Lady Goschen Hospital. In 1961, the pre-clinical section was started in Mangalore.

The Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore became an independent unit in 1977. Apart from the two Government hospitals, there is a teaching hospital attached to the College viz., the KMC Hospital, Attavar, established in 1992 with a bed strength of 500. The infrastructural facilities are comparable to international standards with seven big air-conditioned lecture halls fitted with modern audio-visual teaching aids including multi-media projectors and a modern, fully air-conditioned library with a seating capacity of about 500, and with internet facility. The library has over 10,000 books and subscribes to more than 350 journals annually.

In the year 2001, Centre for Basic Sciences was started at Bejai for the first-year students. Apart from the Departments of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry, there are two lecture halls of capacity 250 each. Both ladies and boys hostels are located within the basic sciences complex for the first-year students. The Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore provides hostel accommodation for its students in nine hostels. Out of these five are ladies hostels. There is also a Medical Education Unit which conducts Orientation program for students, interns and postgraduates, and also provides resource material for the teaching faculty members.

The Medical Council of India, with the first graduating class of KMC, granted recognition in 1958. Recognition by the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian Medical Council soon followed. New programs, faculty research and student amenities have steadily developed over the years. The first College to be developed as a private partnership model in medical education and health care delivery, KMC, Mangalore ranks among the top 25 medical colleges in the country today; the medical college with the highest ICMR STS awards in the country. The KMC, Mangalore is recognized as one among 20 International Medical Schools by the Educational Commission for Foreign Graduates (ECFMG) for electronic credentials verification program. Students from 45 countries have graduated from KMC and the degrees have been recognized worldwide.

• Candidates will have to apply for NEET-UG examination conducted by MCC to take admission in UG courses

• Candidates applying for undergraduate courses will have to take the form online from the official website of KMC
• Candidates applying for the postgraduate courses have to apply online through the official website of NEET-PG conducted by NBE

Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal UG Admission 2022 MBBS

Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal offers MBBS at undergraduate level. MBBS is offered for 4.5 years of duration with one-year compulsory rotating internship.
The counselling for 15% of total seats of MBBS will be held by DGHS, New Delhi. If seats remain vacant even after DGHS counselling, then they will be sent back to the college for further counselling as per the established norms. Remaining 85% seats will be filled under the state quota through counselling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). MBBS aspirants can also apply for management quota seats.
Selection for MBBS is done on the basis of NEET-UG scores. The merit list is prepared for all the categories based on candidates’ score in NEET UG. Candidates who clear the cut-off score set by the college will be called for the admission process.

KMC Manipal Courses and Fee 2022

The mode of KMC Manipal admission 2022 is online. The admission to various courses depends on the entrance examination conducted by the DGHS. Those who qualify for the examination will be eligible to participate in the counselling process of NEET. At the UG level, the college offers an MBBS course which is for five years (excluding six months of rotatory internship). At the PG level, the college offers three-year MD and MS courses and a two-year MSc programme. The college also offers super specialty courses namely three-year DM and MC and two-year MPhil courses,14 fellowship programmes ranging from one to three years, and from six days up to 90 days Observership in Surgical Oncology course. The college provides integrated courses like MD-PhD and MS-PhD for a minimum of five years. MD is offered in 21 specialisations, MS in five specialisations, and MSc in seven specialisations.
