MINS, Latur is a Medical college run by Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research Pune. It is recognized by the Nursing council of India and is affliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The college is situated on a beautiful campus on Ambajogai Road and is about 3 km from shivaji chowk, a widely known central place in Latur city. The architecture of the buildings on the campus is a beautiful combination of Indian and Western styles.
The MINS has well equipped Laboratories, practical Halls, 750 bedded Hospital, Operation theaters, spacious lecture halls, with all facilities. Library, Gymkhana, etc. The details are provided elsewhere.

This is sought to be achieved through state of the art infrastructure & Nursing facilities in an academically vibrant environment through innovative practices in Nursing education & Research in Inculcating scientific, social, ethical, moral & spiritual values, in the Nursing professionals.

History

The Maharashtra Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, School of Nursing was established in May 1999 and the Maharashtra Institute of Nursing Sciences (MINS), College of Nursing, Latur was established in July 2005 & Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing August 2018. This college is one of the branches of the well know Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEER’s) Pune.
The college is situated in MIMSR Medical College campus, which is of an area of 100 Acres. This present premises comprise of the college building, Hospital building, girls and boys hostels staff quarters and a play grounds.
The well equipped laboratories, library, class room, demonstration room, Audio visual aids room, Nutrition Lab, Practical Halls in each department, well equipped central library, digital library and are the special features of the institute, also available well facilitated Urban Health training center at Khadgaon and Rural Health training center at Rameshwar, Tq. Dist.Latur.

AIIMS:

This institution has been established in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra with a view to cater to the needs of nursing facilities to poor and down trodden people in this area and to provide opportunities to the deserving young men and women who have an ambition to pursue Basic B.Sc Nursing Degree course, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing and Diploma Nursing course. The institute has been established with a sole aim of making it “Center of Excellence” in the Nursing feild.

Objectives:

On completion of Basic B.Sc Nursing Degree and diploma program the graduates will be able to:
1. Apply knowledge from physical, biological sciences, medicine including alternative systems and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities.
2. Demonstrate understanding of life style and other factors, which affect health of individuals and groups
3. Provide nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with the individuals and groups.
4. Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decision in all situations in order to provide quality care.
5. Utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care
6. Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with the national health policies and programs.
7. Practice within the framework of code of ethics and professional conduct and acceptable standards of practice within the legal boundaries.
8. Communicate effectively with individual, groups and members of the health team in order to promote effective inter personal relationship and teamwork.
9. Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical/ community health setting.
10. Participate effectively as member of the health team in health care delivery system.
11. Demonstrate leadership and managerial skill in clinical / community health setting.
12. Conduct need based research studies in various settings and utilize the research finding to improve the quality care
13. Demonstrate awareness interests and contributes forwards advancement of self and of the profession.
