About Us
Mangala School of Nursing under the management of Mangala Charitable Trust® Mangaluru is situated at Vidyanagar, Post Pedamale, Neermarga, Mangaluru – 575029, a place well connected by bus routes to all destinations. The Mangala School of Nursing was established in the year 2006. The school is located in Mangalore, a beautiful city of Southern Coastal Karnataka. The city is connected to other parts of the country by road, railway, air and sea route. The city is not only famous for its industrial developments but also for its educational activities with many educational institutions in and around Mangaluru .
Mangala Nursing Home (now known as Mangala Hospital) which is the parent hospital established in the year 1988 has now, developed as a 250 bedded Multispecialty hospital, which caters patients from cross section of the socio-economic stratum by providing latest high-tech equipments handled by professionals.

Mangala Charitable Trust® established for the purpose of alleviating human sufferings, eradication of illiteracy, poverty, imparting Vedic and modern education with an opportunity for welfare & research programme, of which Mangala School of Nursing is a unit.
We uphold and instill respect for life & human dignity of a person from conception to death. The faculty of the school believes in providing nursing education based and built on scientific principles, sound educational theory and practice in order to prepare professionally qualified nurses, who will be able to function as the team member in all health care agencies in the role of a practicing nurse. With this experience one can rapidly move to leadership position in nursing education, nursing service & administration.
The faculty of Mangala School of Nursing believes that school of nursing is a formal educational programme which should provide a broad and sound foundation with specific competency. Nursing is a profession that is to be practised and propagated irrespective of caste, religion or sex. We also recognize the necessity of developing deep pride for the nursing profession amongst the students to enable further professional growth.

The Nursing Course offered by Mangala Charitable Trust® contributes not only towards divers health needs of the local people, but also caters to qualify patient care as well as towards preparing quality health care personnel for the entire country and abroad. The course is designed to provide a balance of professional and general education and to enable students become professional nurses.

Courses
General Nursing and Midwifery
Duration – 3 Years.
Age Limit:
The candidates should be between the age of 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for Registered ANM / LHV.
Admission Procedure
Application Procedure: Eligibility for Admission:
- Both Indian and Foreign students are eligible for admission.
- A pass in PUC / PDC / 10+2 / Intermediate or any other equivalent examination with 40% marks from any recognised board.
- Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply.
- Candidates should be medically fit.
Admission:
All admissions are subjected to the eligibility conditions of KSNC. All original certificates should be produced at the time of admission.
Admission secured on the basis of false information supplied shall stand cancelled and the fees forfeited.
Admission Procedure:
The prospectus and Application form can be obtained by paying cash or DD for Rs. 250/- from the school(by post also) Duly filled in Application form should be sent to The Principal ,Mangala School of Nursing, Mangala Campus, Vidyanagara, Post Pedamale, Neermarga Road, Mangaluru-575 029. The application should be accompanied by a demand draft for Rs.1000/-(Not refundable) in favour of ‘Mangala School of Nursing, Mangalore’.
The following documents should be enclosed with the filled in application .
- Two photocopies of statement of marks of the qualifying examination (SSLC & PUC).
- One photocopy of the Transfer certificate
- One photocopy of Caste certificate(if SC/ST/OBC only)
- Five passport size photographs
- Migration Certificate (for out of Karnataka State students only)Admission granted is provisional subject to
a. The payment of all fees payable to the school.
b. Submission of all original certificates and testimonials as per requirement.
c. Migration certificate of other than Karnataka state students.
d. All required documents.
Fees:
The candidates have to pay the tuition fees and other fees as fixed by the management from time to time. They have to pay all expenses in connection with the training. Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Examinations:
Examinations shall be both in theory and practical.
Examinations will be conducted by the Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board, Bangalore at the end of each academic year.
Students securing not less than 75% of attendance and with satisfactory conduct only will be eligible for appearing for final examination. A student is assessed on the basis of the performance in periodical tests and assignments. The internal assessment marks obtained are added to the marks of the final examination.
