About the College
Welcome to Manjari Devi College of Nursing
Manjari Devi College and School of Nursing has taken its birth from Kalinga Bharati Foundation (KBF), a Charitable Trust, established and promoted by eminent educationists and professionals. The college is named in commemoration of Late Manjari Patnaik wife of Late Prana Nath Patnaik, the great freedom fighter, writer and social worker of Khurda.
Manjari Devi College and School of Nursing has been running since 2005 with the due permission from Govt. of Odisha, Health & Family Welfare Department, Odisha Nursing Council, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and affiliated to Utkal University and Odisha Nurses & Midwives Examination Board. It imparts high quality nursing education in the state of Odisha.
History
Manjari Devi College and School of Nursing was set up way back in the year 2005, when the concept of private nursing education was yet to be understood by the people. It was established with the support of Kalinga Bharati Foundation (KBF), a registered Charitable Trust, headed by renowned educationists and professionals. Furthermore, the college has been named in remembrance of Late Manjari Patnaik, wife of Late Prana Nath Patnaik, a great visionary, freedom fighter, writer and social worker of Odisha.
Bringing the spangle of knowledge to the minds of youth and speedily instills the confidence, the objective of Manjari Devi College and School of Nursing is to determine the awareness of nursing education. It offers the courses for M.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, Basic B.Sc. Nursing, GNM and ANM.
Vision
- The KBF envisages a self-reliant trust where empowered people will espouse the task of their own development on a sustainable basis. The organization also strives to establish a full-fledged multi specialty hospital shortly for which permission from State Government is under process.
- Apart from the above, a Public School under CBSE Syllabus in the name and style “Manjari Devi Public School” has already been stated from the Academic Session 2017-18.
Mission
- Health is a fundamental human right. Maintenance of optimum level of health entails individual as well as social responsibility. However, health can never be adequately protected by health services without active involvement of the community. To meet the above requirement KBF endeavored to empower the downtrodden, destitute, poverty stricken and SC/ST community through organized effort and help them to solve their problem in order to be self-reliant so that they can establish themselves in the society both economically and socially. With this aim in view, the trust launched Nursing education in the state in the year 2005.
