General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year full-time diploma program offered by Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Admission Process

The Admission of the G.N.M course will be made on the basis of merit of the qualifying examination and the science stream candidate will be given preference.

Eligibility Criteria

a. 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
b. 10+2 in Arts(Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Psychology, Philosophy) And English Core/English Elective
or Health care science- Vocational Stream Only, passing
out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE
or other equivalent board with 40% marks.

c. The maximum age for admission in the G.N.M course is 17 to 35 years for all the categories.

• Girls Hostel

  The Institute has well ventilate a spacious hostel for girls. Warden rooms attached to the hostel. Hostels have mess facility with 24 Hrs Water supply and generator facility. All hostel rooms are well furnished and contain attached toilet facilities available for regular supply f water and electricity. Hostel buildings are guarded by security personnel round the clock. All hostel rooms are furnished with a cot, fan, almirah, table, and chair and attached toilet. Hostel block is attached with school of nursing. There are four sections in the hostel.
