Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Treatment Hospital (MDOCTH) which deals in nursing courses and is located in Ludhiana, Punjab. It is recognized from Indian Nursing Council New Delhi. It is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, The college has a Government management. Establish in 1986, It is relatively Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Treatment Hospital (MDOCTH) offers the courses like Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) and Master of science nursing (M.Sc Nursing) independent training placement cell. Nursing is amongst today’s fastest growing careers, providing students ample opportunity of a meaningful and fulfilling vocation for life. Nurses collaborate with physicians to provide direct patient care via observation, assessment, recording, and progress in healing. As such, nurses need to be at the fore-front of the latest innovations and advances in both technology and best-practices in their field. As the leading institute of its kind in the country providing all types of diagnosis and treatment, Mata Mohan Dai Oswal College of Nursing feels the need to impart the best nursing education, as well. Equipped with the very latest infrastructure and tools, and manned by the finest mentors of the land, the Nursing College is therefore designed as a Centre of Excellence, where students can develop skills in Fundamental Lab, Nutrition Lab, Community Health Nursing Lab, Pre-clinical Lab, Material and Child Health Lab and Computer Lab, and, as advocates and health educators for patients, their families and the community and make a real difference to the society. The Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Treatment Hospital (MDOCTH) provides good infrastructure facility to students. It also provides hostel facilities within the college for both boy and girls which would be useful for the students who live outside Ludhiana. The nearest railway station (Ludhiana) and bus stand from the Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Treatment Hospital (MDOCTH) are at a distance of 10 kilometers and 15 kilometers respectively. This would enable students to reach the university within a maximum time span of 30 minutes. Also, the city has many food joints and multiplexes where students can go for a hang out taking time out of their hectic schedules.

College of Nursing

With a noble intention of social welfare by meeting health needs of cancer patients the School of Nursing was established in 1986. The first batch of GNM  had 25 students. The School of Nursing was housed at the basement of the hospital building. Simultaneously a multi story nurse’s hostel was built to accommodate student Nurses.
A multi story beautiful building was erected in 2006. The School of Nursing was upgraded to College of Nursing in 2007. The first batch of 60 Basic B.Sc. (N) students was admitted for the session 2007-2008. Post Basic Nursing programme degree started in 2009.

The College of Nursing offered the following Programmes: –

• Post Basic B. Sc. (N) 2 Years – 30 Seats
• B. Sc. (N) (Basic) 4 Years – 60 Seats
• GNM 3 Years – 60 Seats

College of nursing provides secure and comfortable environment for students to focus on their studies. The students showed 90-100% results every year.

AFFILIATION
M.D.Oswal College of Nursing has obtained permission from the Department of Research and Medical Education, Government of Punjab and is recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi and is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

Course Offered:-

GNM FOR ADMISSION CRITERIA : (WRITTEN EXAMINATION)

For admission in G.N.M., exam will be conducted by Baba Farid University Of  Health Sciences( B.F.U.H.S,)  Faridkot,

• Age: – the candidate shall be 17 years or more and 35 years or less on 31st Dec of the year of admission.
• Minimum Qualification:- Qualification shall be 12 years of schooling ( 10+2 or its equivalent with minimum 45% marks( 40% for SC or ST)
• Preference shall be given to those who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with science subjects i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
• Those who have cleared 10+2 vocational ANM course ( revised after 2001) from school recognized by INC.
• The candidate should be medically fit.
• Residence status:- Preference will be given to the candidates who are residents of India.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (B.SC (N)

• The minimum age for admission shall be 17 Years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
• The minimum educational requirement shall be passing of: – 12 years schooling from recognized board or university with science (Physics, chemistry, biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks (PCBE)
• Candidate should be medically fit

POST BASIC B Sc. Nursing

This two year programme aims to upgrade the Diploma Holder (GNMs) and prepares them to assume responsibilities as competent practitioners, nurse educators and supervisors in clinical/public health settings. This programme requires full time attendance.

FOR ADMISSION CRITERIA: (WRITTEN EXAMINATION)

For admission in Post Basic B.Sc., exam will be conducted by Baba Farid University Of  Health Sciences ( B.F.U.H.S,)  Faridkot, The Eligibility and qualifications for admission to Post Basic B. Sc. (N) course are as per Guidelines of Indian Nursing Council/BFUHS/ GOVT. Notification.

• Candidate should have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery from an institution recognized by the Punjab Nursing Council & Indian Nursing Council situated in the state of Punjab.
• Candidate should be registered as Registered nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) with the state of Nursing registration Council. A male nurse trained before the implementation of new integrated course besides being registered as trained nurse with state Nurse Registration Council, Shall produce evidence of having been trained in any one of the following requisite training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of Midwifery, O.T. Technique, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, T.B. Nursing, psychiatric Nursing, Neurological & Neuro- Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, Orthopedic Nursing.
• Age: Candidate must have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December.
• The candidate should be a resident of India.
• Candidates should have passed GNM examination as a regular candidate from a recognized institution situated in the State of Punjab for state quota seats, wherever applicable. The candidate would be required to submit a certificate to this effect from the Principal/ Head of the Institute last attended
