About the College
A message from the principal's desk.
P.G. College of Nursing, Bhilai (C.G.) is one of the best premier nursing college in India recognized by Indian Nursing Council (New Delhi) and affiliated to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences & Ayush University Of Chhattisgarh (Raipur).
The college was founded and is being managed by BHILAI EDUCATION TRUST, Bhilai in collaboration with Bhilai Steel Plant. Bhilai Education Trust is duly registered as a public Trust, and was constituted in year 1978 in Bhilai by the initiative, involvement and support of Bhilai Steel Plant which consists of Trustees representing Plant, Industrialists, businessmen and eminent citizens of Bhilai.
The college was started with the objective of training the students to become competent nurses for first level positions in nursing, to provide quality care in hospitals and to community and thereby contributing to health care of our nation and bringing about intellectual awakening and all round development of the people of our country through education. The educational institutions which have achieved and acclaimed academic excellence cater to the educational needs of thousands of students coming from different parts of India and also abroad.
The college is spread over an area of 14 acres and was formally inaugurated on 4th February 1987 by His Excellency the then Governor of M.P., Prof. K.M. Chandy in the presence of the Honorable Chief Minister Shri. Motilal Vora. Our teaching faculty includes highly qualified experienced, dedicated and student-caring teachers. The spectacular success achieved is mainly a creation of unusual foresight exceptionally dynamic, leadership and a team work of faculty and management.
The college has excellent physical facilities including labs, well equipped library, classrooms, offices and AV Aids room for various nursing programmes. Our students also have access to the library of JLNH&RC, Bhilai which has a very vast collection of reference books. Practical experience is provided in 1000 bedded multi speciality hospital Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital & Research Centre, Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL which is one of the best hospitals in Central India. For experience in specialized field students are also given exposure to super specialities in renowned hospital like CMC Vellore, AIIMS New Delhi, Child Trust Hospital, Chennai, B.M. Birla Heart Institute Calcutta. Apart from the best teaching faculty, the students are taught by highly qualified visiting nursing professors and doctors of different specialities. Our college also subscribes various foreign as well as Indian journals and books in different specialities for ready reference to the students. Hostel facilities with modern amenities are available to our students on the same campus. The atmosphere in the college is very congenial for professional growth.
We strive to give the best possible education and training to our students with a view to equip them for better professional and personal life to meet the global challenges. - Eligibility Criteria:-10+2 Class Pass with 40% marks aggregate in the science(PCBE)
- Course Duration:-3 and 1/2 Yrs.
- Examination Board:-Nursing Examination Board
Eligibility to appear in the Examination
A candidate shall be eligible for the admission to the State Council/Board Examination if the principal of the school certify that:-
- She/ He has completed not less than eleven month month of the course.
- She/ He has attended 75% of the formal instructions given on each subject and 75% of the clinical, field experience in each area/ subject separately during the academic year,however, the total clinical/ field experience prescribed must be completed before the final council/ Board examinations and befor the issue of diploma. (The diploma shall not be awarded to the student till she/he has completed the clinical field requirements).
- The overall performance of the student and her/ his conduct during the entire academic year has been satisfactory.
- The student has passed in the internal assignment in each subject and practical(s).
- The record of practical experience is complete.
- ANM/ LHV / FHW who have been exempted for six months during third year will be eligible for third year examination after completion of six months training.

Eligibility to appear in the Examination
- A candidate must have minimum of 80% attendance (irrespective of the kind of absence) in theory and practical in each subject for appearing for examination.
- A candidate must have 100% attendance in each of the practical areas before award of degrees.
- Candidate's mark sheet and degree certificate, course completion certificate to be with held until requirements are met.
- A candidate must pass in theory and practical exam separately in each of the paper.
- If a candidate fails in either theory or practical paper he/she has to re-appear for both the papers.(Theory and practical)
- Maximum number of attempts permitted for each paper is 1+4 including first attempt.
- A candidate failing in more then two subjects will not be promoted to the next year.
- Provision of internal assessment of 25 marks for theory and 50 marks in practical in 1st year and 2nd year.
- Grace mark of 5 will be given to the candidate if he/she shall fail with 5 marks only in one paper (only in Annual exam).
- Candidates shall not be admitted to the subsequent higher examination unless the candidate has passed the previous examination.
- A candidate has to secure minimum of 33% in qualifying subject for passing.

- Eligibility Criteria:-1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife of equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
2. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of: B.Sc Nursing/ B.Sc Hons. Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
3. The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc Nursing/ B.Sc Hons. Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
4. Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc.

- A candidate failing in more than two subjects will not be permitted to the 2nd year
- No candidate shall be admitted to the subsequent 2nd year examination unless the candidate has passed the 1st year examination.
- Provision of Internal Assessment 25 for theory and 100 for practical which will be submitted to University by the College.
