About Us

RITEE COLLEGE OF NURSING (RITCON)
RITEE College of Nursing (RITCON) started in the year 2008 under the aegis of Mahanadi Education Society. RITCON launched B. Sc Nursing, Post Basic B. Sc Nursing and M. Sc Nursing courses in the years 2008, 2012 and 2013 respectively with the intent of providing quality education in the field of Nursing. RITCON has well ventilated digital classrooms with modern laboratories, fully furnished hostels, and well stocked library & reference books, and state of the art computer lab.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

RITEE College of Nursing (RITCON) believes in systematic teaching, training and research in Modern Nursing Sciences. The philosophy of the B. Sc.Nursing is incorporated by RITEE College of Nursing (RITCON) at part of Indian Nursing Council. Indian Nursing Council believes that, Health is a state of well-being that enables a person to lead a psychologically, socially and economically productive life. Health is a right of all the people. Individuals, families and communities have a responsibility towards maintaining their health.

Nursing contributes to the health services in vital and significant way in the health care delivery system. It recognizes national health goals and is committed to participate in the implementation of National Health policies and programmes. It aims at identifying health needs of the people, planning and providing quality care in collaboration with other health professionals and community groups.

Scope of nursing practice encompasses provision of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of care to people across their life span in wide variety of health care settings. Practice of Nursing is based upon application of basic concepts and principles derived from the physical, biological, behavioral sciences, medicine and Nursing.

Nursing is based on values of caring, and aims to help individuals to attain independence in self-care. It necessitates development of compassion and understanding of human behavior among its practitioners to provide care with respect and dignity and protect the rights of individuals and groups.

Undergraduate nursing program is broad based education within an academic framework, specifically directed to the development of critical thinking skills, competencies & standards required for practice of professional nursing and midwifery as envisaged in National Health Policy 2002.

The teachers have the responsibility to be role models and create learning environment that enables students to acquire inquiry driven, self directed learning and foster an attitude of life long learning.

Under graduate nursing education program prepares its graduates to become exemplary citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all times in fulfilling personal, social and professional obligations so as to respond to national aspirations.

RITEE College of Nursing also believes that:

Post Graduate programme is essential to prepare nurses to improve the quality of nursing education and practice in India. Post graduate programme in nursing builds upon and extends competence acquired at the graduate levels, emphasizes application of relevant theories into nursing practice, education, administration and development of research skills.
The programme prepares nurses for leadership position in nursing and health fields who can function as nurse specialists, consultants, educators, administrators and researchers in a wide variety of professional settings in meeting the National priorities and the changing needs of the society.
This programme provides the basis for the post masteral programme in nursing. Further the programme encourages accountability and commitment to lifelong learning which fosters improvement of quality care.

Admission:-

ADMISSION CRITERIA

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION INTO B.SC NURSING

  1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st Dec. of the year of admission.
  2. The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of:
    Higher secondary school certificate Examination (12 years course)
    Or
    Senior School certificate Examination (10+2), pre-degree Examination (10+2)
    Or
    An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or University with science (Physics, chemistry, Biology) and English.
  3. A candidate should have passed in subjects of PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in PCB at the qualifying examination. i.e. 10+2.
  4. English is a Compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B. Sc Nursing.
  5. Candidate shall be medically fit.
  6. 5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates may be given.

Entrance / Selection Test:
Selection of the candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination held by University or competent authority.

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION INTO POST BASIC B.SC NURSING

  1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with Chhattisgarh Nursing Registration Council.
  2. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of GNM with minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  3. The candidate should have undergone in GNM in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council
  4. After GNM with the Registration certificate from the State Nursing Council, the candidate can be permitted to join in Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing without work experience.
  5. Candidate shall be medically fit.
  6. 5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates may be given.

Entrance / Selection Test:
Selection of the candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination held by University or competent authority.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS/ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION INTO M. SC NURSING:

  1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife orequivalent with Chhattisgarh Nursing Registration Council.
  2. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of:B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing withminimum of 55% aggregate marks.
  3. The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons.Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which isrecognized by Indian Nursing Council.
  4. Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  5. Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc.Nursing.
  6. Candidate shall be medically fit.
  7. 5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates may be given.
