RNS Institute of Technology, familiar as RNSIT was established in the year 2001. It is the brainchild of Dr. R. N. Shetty, well known industrialist, and a great philanthropist. The institution was established with a sole purpose of imparting quality education in Engineering, Technology and Management. Being one of the premier engineering colleges in the country RNSIT is marching towards placing itself in the global map by excelling in academics and placements.

Brief History

Founded by a great visionary Dr. R N Shetty, a renowned name in the industries viz construction, manufacturing, hotel, automobile, power & IT services, and education, RNSIT has been scripting history in the field of technical education. UG Admission 2022

RNSIT offers admission to B.E programs in 9 various disciplines like Civil Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. Computer Science and Engineering, for a duration of 4 years.

• Candidates seeking admission in RNSIT should have qualified the eligibility criteria set by the institution.
• Further, the candidate should have to appear for either of the KCET/COMED-K entrance examination.
• The candidates can also attain admission into the institution by the institute quota (management quota) if any seats remain unallocated.
• After going through the counseling process, candidates are expected to report back to the institution respectively.

PG Admissions 2022

The college also offers M.Tech, MBA. MCA & M.Sc courses at PG level. The mode of application to all the courses is online. Admission in M.Tech is done on the basis of marks scored in the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by KEA. Eligible candidates can also get admission in M.Tech through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) / Karnataka PGCET.

In order to seek admission in MCA and MBA, eligible candidates will have to appear in PGCET conducted by KEA. 

• The very basic requirement for any candidate seeking admission into the institution is that he/she should have qualified the eligibility criteria set by the institution and the concerned entrance exam board.
• After this, once the candidates appear for the entrance test in their desired subject and attain a certain score they will be allotted a rank based on their merit. The candidates have to go through the concerned counseling process in order to grab the seat. The candidates are expected to report back to the institution respectively.
• The candidates can also attain admission into the institution by the institute management quota, if any seats remain unallocated.

Scholarship

Around 90% of SC/ST students get a scholarship every year.
80% of economically weak students of OBC get the scholarship every year through various state and national agencies.
Scholarship is also given to some general merit students from LIC, their parent’s organizations and other sources.
Various organizations from whom our students are getting scholarships are JINDAL, Sainik Welfare, Defense / PM Scholarship, MHRD (Merit), Vakkaligara Sanga, World Bunts foundation Trust (Bunt Sanga), Institution of Engineering Technology, INDIA Scholarships, LIC, Vishwa Konkani student scholarship fund and Many Community Scholarships. In some cases, minority scholarship amount is directly put into the student’s account, hence college cannot give an exact figure in terms of amount and percentage as it is not available with us hence these are not included. Of the total seats, 5% allotted to economically weaker section students under SNQ Quota are paying a very much subsidized fee of `3000 as against `49000
specified.
