Sapthagiri School Of Nursing Was Started By The Tireless Effort Of Mr.Chandrasekar In The Year 2005. The College Started Growing To Meet And Fulfill The Global Demands Of Graduate Nurses. The Institute Reached The Next Mile Stone In The Year 2008, When It Was Promoted To A P.G College With M.Sc.To Promote And Give Opportunity To All Diploma Holders For Graduation, In 2009 Post BSc Nursing Programme Was Started. Our Further Goal And Effort Was To Meet The Emerging Requirements For Efficient And Technically Capable Candidates In The Field Of Allied Health Sciences, Which Became Fruitful In The Year 2010.The Academic Capabilities Of The Institution Thus Reached New Heights When It Got Affiliated To RGUHS For Conducting Graduate Programmes In Allied Health Sciences Courses Such As BSC Operation Theatre Technology Etc.

GNM Nursing

ABOUT GENERAL NURSING MIDWIFERY

GNM referred as General Nursing and Midwifery it deals with the education of nurses in general health care, nursing, and midwifery. It is a 3 years long Diploma program. The academic program is 3 years long and 6 months are dedicated towards internship. Internship is mandatory. This programme will boost you in career prospects. After completing this course, successful candidates may register themselves as a registered nurse or midwife with state nurse registration council.

• Duration :3 Years

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

A Candidate seeking admission shall have:-

• Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV.
• 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
• 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
• 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board with 40% marks.
• Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.
• Student shall be medically fit.
• Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.

Housing

SapthaGiri Halls of Residence runs 12 Residences (05 for Boys and 07 for Girls), with the capacity for 1500 residents, who can be accommodated in a single, double, three bedded rooms and common areas with TV and Newspaper. Residents can avail themselves of the sports facilities, horse- riding and other facilities. Well-equipped Laundry services are provided for residents. Each Residence is managed under the supervision of the Chief Warden and Deputy Warden, who are the faculty members of SapthaGiri along with the assistance of Managers and Supervisors.

Dining

Dining halls are maintained with highly mechanized Kitchen and hygienic cooking infrastructure. We serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Menu is prepared according to the food habits and tastes of residents. Mess Committee (comprising of Hostel Authority, Mess Manager and Leaders from Students) meet every month to discuss the menu and decide the same for the following month. International students have the option to choose existing mess facility or to cook for themselves in a separate kitchen facility provided in the international student hostel.

To begin with, the housing (hostel) facilities are made as 'homely' as possible. With choices of single/shared furnished occupancies with or without kitchenettes. The life at the hostel is an extension of the academic pursuit of hte student. It helps them grow with a proper mix of care, discipline and personal space under the supervision of a warden. The large capacity laundromat, state of the art kitchen, backup electric power, solar powered energy, purified drinking water, WiFi connectivity, on-campus medical and ambulance facility ensure a hassle-free life for the students.
