Shija Academy of Nursing

Shija Academy of Nursing offers three years and six months diploma course in  General Nursing & Midwifery or GNM and B.Sc in Nursing, four years undergraduate programme for all medical aspirants who want to pursue a career in clinical nursing.
Shija Academy of Nursing is a sister concern of Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI). The vision of the Academy is to prepare Healthcare professionals who will be able to render quality care to the patients and members of the society based on nursing expertise, ethics, and principles. Shija Academy of Nursing believes in the individuality of each student, in their capabilities, interest, cognitive abilities, and skills and accordingly accepts the responsibilities to provide for the continued development of each student as an individual citizen and a world-class professional nurse. Commitment to the profession and deep regard to human values along with sound knowledge of the rapidly changing health care delivery systems will be the objectives of this school.

Location

Shija Academy of Nursing is located within the campus of Shija Hospitals and Research Institute. The serene and tranquil campus, away from the congested city, tucked in the foothills of Langol and a pollution free environ, provides the perfect place for healing and a congenial atmosphere for learning.

• As a faculty, we believe that professional nursing is a life-long service to the people and nursing must advance along with other health professions if society is to be assured of a balanced health care programme.
• We believe that professional nursing is charged with overall responsibility for giving care and those who assist in giving care, wherever and whenever, it becomes necessary to satisfy the nursing needs of people.
• We believe that our conceptual approach to curriculum provides opportunities for relating scientific, abstract and professional knowledge in identifying and delaying with nursing problems, assessing health needs, making clinical judgments and initiating or sustaining nursing intervention in the care of individuals and families.
• We believe that our curriculum is sufficiently flexible to provide for the changing needs of students and the consumers of nursing and will serve as an acceptable basic preparation for nursing study.
• We believe that professional nursing practice demands a high degree of competency and responsibility and involves decision making at a level which requires perceptual and cognitive ability. It includes creating and initiating new methods based on current research.
• Therefore, the Academy prepares its students to develop ability to analyze situations and problems critically and take responsibility for their higher education for maximum professional effectiveness throughout their career. Furthermore, the Academy believes in a system of nursing education that fits in with the changing educational patterns of the country to meet the health needs of the society.
