Ayurveda is a simple and intuitive system of medicine. This method, which is considered to be the best in the oldest medical system, is being developed anew all over the world. Scientific technology is being used in its development in India as well. A syllabus and uniform degree of Ayurvedic education has been prescribed in the whole country. From EC point of view, the Central Medical Council of India has prepared a curriculum of BO a MO SO Ayurvedacharya and it has been implemented all over the country.

With the aim of promoting indigenous medical facilities in rural areas of Bihar, renowned educationist Shri Mahamaya Sharan Singh and Ayurvedacharya Ram Raksha Pathak took a pledge to start an Ayurveda College at Chapra. Acharya Ramraksha Pathak had held important positions like Principal in Ayurvedic College Begusarai and Haridwar, Jamnagar (Gujarat) Central Post Graduate Ayurvedic Research Consultant and Member of Central Medical Council and had a big plan in mind to expand this system. He formed a committee in consultation with the famous Ayurveda doctor of Chapra, Pandit Ramakant Ojha. The chairman of the committee, Acharya Ram Raksha Pathak and secretary, Shri Mahamaya Sharan Singh were made. Famous freedom fighter Kapildev Srivastava, Advocate Pandit Shivkumar Vdivedi, Shri Brajnandan Singh, Shri Jagannath Prasad Saraf and Shri Rishi Pathak were made its members.

This college was inaugurated by Shri Kedar Pandey, the then Health Minister on 30 November 1973 (Friday). Enrollment of students started in 1974 and teaching work started in the college with 20 students. Dr. Sitaram Verma, the first principal of the college, was made MRCP. Shri Rishi Kumar Pathak and Shri Raghuvansh Bhushan Ojha took charge as teachers.

Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Ojha has been appointed as the new Principal after the retirement of Principal in June 2013. It may be recalled that till 1990 the name of the college was Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya and Chikitsalaya, but due to the combined names of the parents of the donor, it was renamed as Shri Moti Singh Jageshwari Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya and Chikitsalaya.

After this, the Central Medical Council of India started considering it as a new college. But after the clarification of the college, on May 11, 1999, the Central Medical Council of India conducted an election and allowed the enrollment of 40 students.

Shri Moti Memorial Society has been formed under the chairmanship of Shri Ramsunder Das for the operation of the college, which is registered with the government. According to the criteria of the Central Medical Council of India, a comprehensive action plan has been prepared for the development of the college.

In this way, it is being developed as a hospital where modern management of surgery will be done along with Ayurveda medicine. Apart from the students studying, this will also benefit the patients at large. There is a system of free medical treatment for poor patients here. Best arrangements have been made for safe delivery of women and care of babies. A medicinal plant has been developed in the college premises. So that it is possible to produce abundant herbs for the manufacture of medicines. They can also be exported outside.
