About SRMMCON
Smt. Radhikabai Meghe Memorial College of Nursing (SRMMCON) was established in 2002-2003 with annual intake of 30 for Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course under the ambit of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. In the year 2005, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing was started to provide the diploma nurses an opportunity to upgrade their education status. This was the first College in Vidarbha region to start Post Graduate Course in Nursing under the ambit of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nashik in 2007.Smt. Radhikabai Meghe Memorial College of Nursing came under the ambit of Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences(Deemed to be University) in 2009 with NAAC accreditation ‘A’ grade. Thereafter, in the 3rd cycle of re-accreditation by the NAAC, the University has been re-accredited with “A+” Grade making it a unique Health Sciences University in the County to have such a unique distinction, in the 3rd cycle of its re-accreditation, in the year 2017. Subsequently, it was placed in ‘Category-I Deemed to be University’ as per University Grants Commission (Categorization of Universities only) for grant of graded autonomy, regulations 2018.
Currently the courses offered by SRMMCON include Basic B. Sc Nursing with 100 intakes, Post Basic B. Sc Nursing with 50 intakes, M. Sc Nursing with 27 intakes of students, Ph.D. Nursing in all specialties, Fellowship Courses in Evidence Based Nursing, is running smoothly under the roof of SRMM College of Nursing.
SRMMCON is located in the picturesque surroundings of Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha, Maharashtra;the college strives to follow the footprints of care,dedication, compassion and devotion of great social leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Acharya Vinoba Bhave. With the expediency of multispecialty and super-specialty services rendered by parent hospital Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, the college aspires to be the centre of excellence for training in Nursing Education through Evidence Based Nursing Practice competing to be at the Global Scenario.
Rail Connectivity: Wardha Junction Railway station is 2.4km away from Sawangi while Sewagram Junction Railway station is 6.4km away
Road Connectivity: Wardha City is also well connected to the major cities viz. Nagpur, Pune and Hyderabad through Highways and trunk roads. Wardha is located on the Maharashtra State Highway 255 connecting Nagpur and its other satellite districts. It also connects the MSH-3 at Seloo. Wardha is also connected to the Trunk roads on the Varanasi-Nagpur-Hyderabad-Bangalore-Kanyakumari Highway. Besides private taxis, State Buses and Volvo Buses are also popular modes of public transport.
