Syed Mantaqui Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology was inaugurated in the year 2016 as a constituent college of Islamic University of Science and Technology. It is located at Awantipora a small picturesque town situated on the main National Highway (NH1-A) in Kashmir approximately 30kms south of the capital city Srinagar and just adjacent to the famed saffron fields. The spectacular campus has the Himalayan mountain range on one side, the Jhelum River on the other and a beautiful grove of Almonds cradling the main campus. The college is approved by the Indian Nursing Council and J&K State Nursing Council. The College offers four year basic B.Sc. Nursing Program. It has State of Art labs and well stocked library containing about 2000 books and journals. The college organizes many development programs for the teaching faculty and students. Moreover, it provides a good platform for the students to inculcate the scientific nursing skills and excellence in nursing practice. Hands-on-training is given to the students at the 900-bed multi super-speciality hospitals, as well as in allied urban and rural health centers. Students visit different families and provide primary health services. Student actively participates in health awareness programs. Nursing students do have benefit of contributions from interdisciplinary teaching faculty, and ample opportunity for extra- curricular activities as university has excellent facilities for the same.
