ABOUT NURSING COLLEGE

T. & T.V. Institute of Nursing, Surat was establish in 1966, upgrade G.N.M programme in the year of 2006 and started Basic B.Sc.Nursing Programme in the year of 2013 with a philosophy of “Serving Humanity”. T.& T.V. Institute of Nursing is the constituent nursing educational institute of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University and recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, as well as Gujarat Nursing Council duly permitted by Govt. of Gujarat for its purpose of Nursing education.
The nursing profession is a fine example of national integrity as nurses serve humanity without any sort of prejudice. Nurses are with patients throughout the continuum of life. Nurses are teacher, advocates, caregivers, critical thinkers, and innovators. They do so much more than care for individuals…their presence 24/7 has transformed lives. Nursing is an honorable profession, and nurses are the heart and soul of the healthcare system.
The nursing profession regularly rated as the most trusted profession. Trust involves integrity and honesty; it involves the ability to rely on someone or something; and it is fundamental to a healthy society. In health care, we emphasize safety and quality. Delivering safe and high-quality health care depends upon honesty and trust.
Better education is very necessary for all to go ahead in the life and get success. It develops confidence and helps building personality of a person. Good education gives many purposes to the life such as enhancement of the personal advancement, increase social status, increase social health, economical progress.
That is why nurses need to be highly knowledgeable and skillful which can be attained only through education. Education is the way of life; it is the power of that expression which will give strength and ability to the students to grow.
Therefore the ultimate goal of this institution is to prepare skilful nurses who will be competent enough to provide holistic care.

• That nurses trained at degree, diploma level are equipped with scientific based thorough knowledge and are competent to give comprehensive nursing care.
• That nurses thus trained are able to understand the social and health related problems in the hospital setting and the community and will be able to intervene and work as agent of social change.
• That by the end of this training they will develop the potential leadership qualities and contribute towards the progress of changing health needs of the society with love and compassion.
• That in instilling in minds of our student projecting our selfless service of truth and compassion, instilling it in the minds of our students thus developing all round personality.

PRESIDENT’S WORDS
Venus hospital formally known as Ashaktashram hospital has been serving humanity for more than 100 years, with a vision of providing health care to the poor whilst creating health and social awareness in the community.
As an extension of this vision, we run Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) course for 44 years & upgraded nursing studies with General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) since 2006, the major objective being to produce competent health workers from within the community, willing to go back and serve their own people.
The education we seek to impart is holistic, providing theoretical and practical knowledge in the art and science of nursing, along with communication and counselling skills, bonded together with a passion to serve the suffering.
I would like to convey my best wishes to the staff of the College of Nursing and pray for the success of their students, that they may “learn to excel” in their profession, that their “light may shine before all men, that they may see their good works and glorify our Father in heaven”.
