To get into these institutions you should go for writing jee mains and jee advanced examinations for engineering For more information.Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Senate vide its meeting held on 19 February 2021 has allowed Graduates of any course with a minimum duration of FOUR years, from any Centrally Funded Technical Institution with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 out of 10 or its equivalent are eligible to apply for the Ph D program only without qualifying in GATE or any other National Entrance under CFTI Mode of Entry.GFTI colleges or Government Funded Technical Institutions are the premier higher educational institutes. GFTIs include Universities, Engineering and Architecture colleges that are funded by the Government of India. GFTI colleges also offer postgraduate courses such as MTech and MBA along with doctoral programmes in various specialisations. Admission to these courses is done on the basis of various national and state-level entrance exams such GATE, CAT etc. The University of Hyderabad, Assam University and Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, are some of the GFTIs in the country. The majority of the GFTIs in India also offer degree courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in streams such as Science, Humanities, Arts, etc.
Process of admission
Since the academic year the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is responsible for conducting admission in 33 government funded technical institute through its website.
The admissions are done on the basis of merit obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination - Main.
The seat allotment is subject to merit whereas seat acceptance is subject to payment of 35,000/- INR for Open and OBC within 2–4 days, and 20,000 INR for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Further seat acceptance does not mean admission, a candidate offered and accepted seat have to personally report to The allotted institute and pay the remaining fees demanded by the respective institute.

Entrance Exams for Admission to GFTIs/CFTIs
For admission to GFTI Colleges, candidates have to qualify for entrance tests for various UG and PG level programmes. For BTech courses, candidates are admitted through JEE Main exam. GFTIs/CFTIs Counselling Registration Process 2023
To participate in the JoSAA counselling process 2023, candidates have to register themselves online through the official website of JoSAA. Candidates can log in by using their respective JEE Main exam roll numbers. Candidates do not require to fill any other personal or academic details to register for JoSAA. All the details will be directly taken from the student's JEE Main and JEE Advanced application forms. However, candidates will have to update their contact details while applying for the centralised counselling process conducted by JoSAA.
GFTIs/CFTIs Choice Filling through JoSAA 2023
Candidates who qualify the JEE Main exam are considered eligible for admission to the courses offered by the different GFTIs in India. The first step in GFTI seat allocation is to select the stream and the institute in which the candidate is interested to apply. Once the candidates have selected the steam, they will have to arrange the choice as per their preference. One must ensure that the choice of streams is filled in the order of preference - most preferred to least preferred. This can be done through the Arrange Filled Choices option available on the JoSAA official website. Ensure that you are fill in the choices as per your interest and only then submit the options.
GFTIs/CFTIs Counselling and Seat Allotment 2023
The counselling dates for admission to the Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) is provided in the table above as indicated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. Only those candidates who qualify JEE Main 2023 will be able to take part in the GFTI counselling. The seat allotment for GFTIs will be done on the basis of the rank and score achieved by a candidate in the JEE Main exam.
