IIIT stands for Indian Institute of Information Technology. The main focus of these institutes is on courses related to Information Technology though they also offer few other courses. Ministry of Human Resource Development funds and manages these institutes. These institutes are classified as per the funded organizations. Entrance Exams for Admissions at IIITs

All the IIITs, although autonomous, are linked to each other through a common admission process. Admission to UG engineering programmes offered at IIITs is done through JEE Mains exam. After NTA (National Testing Agency) coming into authority from 2018, the exam is held twice a year in January and April for admission to various IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the JEE Mains cutoff 2023 for top IIITs in online mode. The opening and closing rank will also be released.
