Admission Process For Bachelor Of Occupational Therapy 

Admission usually takes place through state wise/central medical admission authority. It is based on merit marks. Marks scored by a student in state/all india level entrance test (depending upon the type of institute you want admission in) and 12th science board examination are taken into consideration. Based on these marks, a merit list is made. Seats will be allotted to deserving students based on the merit list.

Admission to b.o.th course is generally based on entrance exam and merit, depending on the institute. Institutes that conduct based on merit consider applicants’ scores in class 12 board exam followed by a document verification or interview round. On the other hand, institutes conducting entrance-based admission check test taker's aptitude and skills and shortlist candidates based on the cutoff marks and grant final admission based on counselling.

The admission to the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy courses are done either on the basis of merit list or entrance examination. The admission to the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy courses are mainly done in the month of May or June every year. However, this year the admission process has been postponed due to the pandemic.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring for admission to the course are required to fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria.

  • 10+2, completed from a recognized educational Board.
  • Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Mathematics as the main subjects of study at the 10+2 level.
  • A minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the level of graduation.
  • Candidates appearing for their final 10+2 examination are also eligible to apply for the course on a provisional basis.

Bachelor in Occupational Therapy 2023: Admission

  • Admission to Bachelor in Occupational theory is both merit based as well as entrance based.
  • Candidates are required to visit the website of their preferred college and check the various entry criteria as well as the eligibility criteria 
  • The candidates are required to register themselves with the college or entrance exam authorities and are required to fill up their application form.
  • After filling the application form the candidates are required to upload the various documents in the correct format and size. 
  • After that the candidates are required to submit their form and take out a receipt for future reference.
  • If the candidates sit for the entrance exam, he or she will have to score the cut off marks, as set by the college authority.
  • Post qualifying the exam, candidates will be shortlisted, and the final selection will follow their efficiency in the interview round.
  • In case of merit based admission the candidates are required to pay the admission fees, should they qualify for the merit list put forward by the college.

After appearing in 10+2 examinations with physics, chemistry and biology, candidates are required to appear in medical entrance examinations. Bachelor of occupational therapy colleges and institutes conduct entrance examinations in order to provide admissions. On the basis of candidates’ performance in the entrance examination, admissions are provided. NEET: NEET stands for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test. The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), formerly known as the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is the entrance exam for MBBS and BDS programmes in Indian medical and dental institutes. It is carried out by the National Testing Agency (NTA). A applicant who aspires to pursue medicine must have had Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology as obligatory subjects in Class 10 and 12 and must have passed these subjects.
